11/4/2025 LIONS Trade for

Time is a ticking.

Tough to say. If there’s one position that hasn’t held up its end of the bargain in the 2027 draft, it’s the QBs. Lagway’s disappointed. Arch, Raiola, Sellers (I doubt he’s in this year’s class at this point). Sayin’s been pretty good, but his issues re: the draft have always been more about size, and that’s not changing.

Mendoza’s not a generational QB prospect, but if they get the 1st pick it may be a bird in hand situation. He fits Engstrand’s offense since a more-athletic Goff is the comp, and he’s gonna crush the intangibles side of the draft process. If they get a huge offer for him I’d probably take it, but I don’t expect that to happen, so yeah, I think I’d just stick and take him. Provided they don’t find their own veteran option like we did.

i think he could be still

Physical upside is immense and that can easily knock him into the first round for sure

South Carolina is a hot mess that i can see him transferring, but gonna be quite a bit of competition for next year in the draft for the QBs

I get it and I don’t think their bad year is his fault, but he’s done himself no favors and has to know playing for someone like Riley, DeBoer, or any of the other QB guru coaches with opening will help his stock immensely. And he’ll make damn near as much as he would in the NFL to do it.

If Ty Simpson declares

Deboer and Sellers is like a match made in heaven tbh

But i could see him declaring and the rams drafting him with their own first, which is scary hours ngl

Any idea what the Chargers gave up? he was a former 1st round pick.

He might still go high, but it’s a risk, and there’s just so much he has to improve on re: the actual art of playing QB. I thought AR actually looked further along going through progressions, etc… and we all know how that turned out.

Really? i think sellers looks better than AR did as a QB in college.

I do think AR is slightly more of a physical freak, but Sellers has the Josh Allen LB like frame for a QB, its hard af to ignore.

Also his oline is dog water and is doing sellers no favors, no QB would thrive under that line

And at the end of the day we’re left standing here with our collective dick in our hands.

Holmes we had offers but I need to keep the picks so I can trade up for white wr. Dan im just here to coach. In his head ( ā– ā– ā– ā–  off and make a move)

My biggest issue with Sellers is I think he struggles with the one area I find most important for a QB: seeing the field. I thought AR at least tried to go through progressions. He wasn’t great at it, but better from the beginning of the year to the end. It made you think he could keep getting better. I also liked his pocket movement better, and I thought he at least tried to get the ball out in time.

That said, I miss on QB all the time. I’d be better off flipping a coin.

Asking prices were high. We’re up against it salary cap wise in the next couple of years. I’m fine with keeping the draft picks and not overpaying (no significant OL person was moved) given the market, but Brad has to stop taking flyers on the Manu’s, Martin’s, and TeSlaa’s of the world.

Before I get lynched on TeSlaa, I have no problem with the player himself - it’s the capital we gave up to get him. He’s a good developmental WR, but you can get those without needing to trade up. As for Martin and Manu, just stop with this measureable BS on players that have .00001% chance of hitting - and definitely stop trading UP to do it. All GMs miss on players, but trading UP to draft a shot in the dark longshot is just craziness.

This is the third year in a row that we needed help for the playoffs and the third year in a row that we’ve done nothing. Sometimes you have just have to go out and get ā€˜r done. The goal is to win a championship, not to be a perennial playoff team.

We didn’t need help two years ago. We needed our players to not implode in the second half of the 9ers game.

Last year, there was no amount of help that was going to make up for 14 guys in defense for IR. And yet, Brad still went out and got one of the best DE available at the time that many people were clamoring for in Z.

This year, there was no player that was moved that was going to fix the Lions major issue - OL.

With this OL we may struggle to make the playoffs.

4 of the first 35 and another pick around 45-50.
