1st Round, Pick 24: Lions Select CB Terrion Arnold, Alabama

I am all in on the player we are getting. As far as a football player I want this guy on my team. I am not at all concerned about his speed. He is twitchy enough and he tackles. One thing about Arnold is whatever he does not do well today he does better tomorrow.

As far as what we gave up Dallas had us over a barrel because GB was picking next. I thought we should have got a fourth back to make it a fair trade. I say get the player you want. If we give up the rest of our draft to get Beebe in the 2nd round I would be happy with that too. Now I love more picks but I know the Lions are very selective in the players they want.

I remember Slay’s mentor, Rasheen Mathis… remember that? He preached technique over speed.

Also, those saying you’re getting Okudah vibes is actually a compliment. Okudah has some of the best tape for a college CB that exists. He was a legit top 10 pick. Not every CB busts.

So, Aarom Glenn cover 0? No concerns? Hutch says thats.how AG wants it.

Have you considered the outlandish possibility that your player evaluation skills aren’t what you think they are?

I just can’t believe we have anyone crying about giving up a pick that the Lions used on guys like Hooker and Martin last year.

The reality is that this Lions team is good enough that we’re at a point where 3rd round guys can be projects and if we don’t have any? :man_shrugging:t3:

No…im really good. Ask @Thats2

Better than any GM in my life i have lived

If Amon-Ra was so good he wouldn’t have fallen to the 4th. If Branch was so good he wouldn’t have fallen to the second. If LaPorta was so good he would have been the first TE drafted. Yawn.

How are you still obsessed with the underwear olympics like this in 2024?

All I know is we got the top CB prospect in this years draft. And we only lost a 3rd to get him. And I trust in BH. That is all.

Except that the draft isn’t over yet.

Now that is all.

Okudah played in the big ten when nobody could pass the ball lol

Arnold was in the SEC this past year.

Even better.

We got a potentially elite starting CB duo for picks:

29, 73, and 92.

It’s a no brainer.

And we got 2 6th rounders back.

And a 7th next year!!!

Damn it , nobody loves beans more than me how tf did I forget about that 7.

We gotta hope Dallas is the worst team in the league now so that it can be the 1st pick in round 7

They don’t even have to be elite. They just need to be solid. Adding Arnold plus the players they have, traded for, and signed is great! Our biggest weakness which was basically ghosts playing CB has now become a very solid unit. No matter which way this is looked at, the 2ndary is greatly improved.

The 6th and 7th round picks can be valuable when acquiring other players. We are not high enough to get waiver claims but so often you see players who were going to be released swapped for a 7th or an exchange of 6th and 7th round picks.

This is straight up trolling at this point.

Why? Some folks know me here.

Do i need to pay money? @Thats2 @BubbaBaker-60 @CuriousHusker know me.

How much do I need to provide?

This pick was a home run. It was worth the juice to grab this kid at 24. You sit and wait in order to conserve pick 73, and we’d never have known we could’ve had the elite CB in this draft for our system and what our coaches want on the outside. Pick 73 is a pittance to pay for a guy who will match up against Justin Jefferson, Ceedee Lamb and Brandon Aiyuk and not blink. He will show up and show out and get better and better. His ceiling as an athlete is really high. He’s got the perfect mentality for our secondary room. He’s a dawg.
