The floor is sky high. Heāll ensure we stay elite against the run (and we were elite last year before the injuries screwed us). He also theoretically offers something against the pass, heās not a slug like a typical 0/1T. Kinda like bargain Grant I suppose, though Williams is even better mentally. He also gives much better effort.
Personally I would have liked to see more out of him as a pass-rusher, and his career at OSU was odd with the yo-yo-ing weight, I donāt know if the coaches were asking him to do that or not (@HSVLion?). But heās a very good fit on our DL and he ensures we stay elite at a thing, and thatās worth something.
Thatās not showing up for me, lemme see if this worksā¦
Just watched 2 games⦠Every snap on youtube⦠He definitely has that burst. I get the Alim comp⦠Clearly not a fat nose tackle. Legit interior presence. Which is huge while Alim recovers.
Will watch more tomorrow⦠But he has some legit skills
I liked OT Simmons, safety Nick E, and edge Green. Green is 250 pounds so I get that concern. Safety depth is a concern but is a 1st rounder smart there? Simmons would start at guard here maybe.
As Jman points out DT long term is a concern. We now have Alim and Williams long-term. I get that.
Williams is an elite and experienced stuffer.
BPA? Maybe. 330 pound people are hard to find. Gets a year to learn from Reader. Is elite at his top skill (stopping the run).
always been told conversion therapy doesnāt work.
Trust me, you can always get fatter.
Well, weāve got the whole incontinence theme covered now.
330 lb guys that move like him however is much less achievable
Rated higher than Harmon on the PFF Big Board.
Very impressed how he moves at 320 pounds⦠Gotta watch more yet⦠But I see it
Fantastic pick. This mfer is always causing problems at the LOS or behind it. This guy is massive but moves like a svelte pre-teen Swedish boy.
Didnt watch or read a single draft prospect related thing or look at any mocks⦠It actually made the draft approach much much quicker!!
I did watch the Lions pick then looked at the highlights, though they dont tell the whole story, he looks tenacious! Have to love that at DT!
Last time we were deep at DT, we had the #2 Def.
Strong DT rotation can really make a defense hum!!!
Hopefully he, like anyone we pick, stays healthy.
I hope so. I hope he proves you correct.
Personally I am a big believer that you build from the middle out and that owning the LOS on both sides of the ball is the biggest factor in success in football. So now we just add a good edge guy.
Yep. My concern.
But, in Brad I trust.
I like this take. A lot.
Good question. That wouldnāt surprise me, mostly because of who we had next to him changed throughout his four years, of which he played pretty much the whole time, including as a true freshman.
Ok, Iām going to bed. I promise to answer any and all Tyleik questions tomorrow after I get finished with my ā ā ā ā ā ā ā lab.
McNeill isnāt back until November theoretically. Going out when he did last year was a huge kick in the nuts. Maybe they are banking on Davenportās luck to not be bad this year?
Dude moves like heās 275 in that film⦠![]()

More pleaseā¦
