The difference in team speed between us and the final four teams was very apparent. I made several comments about that throughout the playoffs.

Only 42% of 2nd Rounders even make the NHLā€¦3rd Rounders is in the 20-35% range.

Above chart is a good talking pointā€¦ Have never heard of many of these ā€œProspectsā€. G Bednar may have been released. F Carter Mazur has an outside chance of making the team in 2024-25. Heā€™s at the over-ripe stage. F Soderblom needs more experience. Same with Lombardi & Hanas/Buiumā€¦Wallinder is in a make-or-break situation, I fear. Borderline. Likely, 1st dibs in 2025-26. McIssac blew out his shoulder. Tumisto may go back to the Fin League. The rest?..Who cares?..

That looksā€¦a lot worse than I thought it would.

I have to remind myself that we donā€™t have Perron and Gostisbehere who we are rumored to be bringing back, but that team needs some more talent in addition to bringing everyone back if we hope to make it out of the first round.

Perron is a UFA and I hope they donā€™t bring him back.

Like you saidā€¦ need to add some speedā€¦ and maybe open up spots for the young guys to play.

They could add one good top 6 forward just for insurance and still not block anyone but i agree not parron none of the ufa are worth bringing back

Problem is, Perron is VERY popular within the Wing Org. IMO, he will likely play 1 more year for the Wings. He makes plays in the offensive end, consistently. Thatā€™s a Big reason heā€™s on the 1st Line with Larks & Raymondā€¦Perron also acts as the Enforcer, protecting Larkin, and plays positional hockey, thinks the game, great experience, with great vision and Net prescence.

Heā€™s also slow, takes cheap penalties, and a liability on defense. For a team which is offensively-challenged, Perron provides stability and is more than willing to go into corners with big defensemen and dig out the puck to the goal scorers Larkin & Raymond. A Net Asset, all things considered, for now. Alternatively, who do you think is good enough to play on the same line with Larkin & Raymond - The No.1 Line???

Offensively challenged? They were 8th in points for. It was the defense was the issue

My wish is
We trade Copp.and Holl. I wish petry could get traded

Resign mo and Raymond
And kane

Sign brady skjei D
Trade for 30 goal scoring center

Dont resign kane he wants a 3-4 year deal.

Hes not worth that at all

I doubt someone gives him more then 2 years. Rangers might though

It only takes one stupid desperate GM.

Updated, forgot to remove a couple FAs.

Based on this depth chart Red Wings have about $9m in cap space after giving Raymond and Seider $8m aav each.

Keep in mind, thats with a full 23 man roster. So anyone brought in would replace an existing player. So freeing up just under a million
