I souped up her Barbie Jeep years ago and she races the circuit at the county fairs where they race power wheels cars on a dirt oval track. Last spring I bought her a Barbie Corvette, souped it up and did the Power Wheels drag races all last summer at the drag strips in both Michigan and Ohio.
This is her last year doing it because they have a 10year old age limit.
Funny story. Her jeep was staged in the inspection area, empty, waiting to race. While the kids were having their drivers meeting this unsuspecting mom let her 7 year old boy get in it and of course he hits the throttle. This thing tears across the pavement. The mom shocked by how fast it was is screaming while she chases after her kid. Whoâs hanging on for dear life as he races through the fairgrounds. He smashes through a table and then a crowd of teenagers who try to stop it and they get dragged a ways before they get it stopped. The kid is crying because it scared the crap out of him. My daughterâs jeep gets the windshield broken so sheâs crying and upset. The kids mom then yells at me for making such a dangerous Barbie jeep. Itâs a racing jeep lady, you let your child get into it, take off in it, damage it, luckily no one was hurt and itâs my fault. No apology or offer to fix the damages.
With them eating roughly 30% of his salary, it makes it a bit more acceptable I guess.
The real problem is that Trouba has really struggled, and isnât the player that he was a couple years ago. Heâs been quite bad in fact.
If the Wings do this, they must be banking that he can turn it back around. If he doesnât, this will turn into a really bad contract even with NY eating so much of it.
Trouba has a big reputation as a dirty player. Known for his high elbows, head hunter, etc.Heâs starting to get old and is overpaid in NY. Another reason the Blue Shirts are eager to unload him and why they are going to absorb a substantial amount of salary to make any trade. Absorb 50% of his salary and I would consider it, but NY wonât due that.
Seems Yzerman is a tad over eager to make the trade, however. didnât he learn his lesson signing Petry & Chiarot to bad contracts and lousy play???
OTOH, Yzerman knows the CAP is going up around $5M for the next 2 years. So, he has some flexibility salary-wise. Wings have reputedly the No.1 Farm System in the NHL. If so, then why doesnât he promote more players??..I think he fears overloading the team with rookies and desires some veterans to stabilize the team sotospeak. I expect Edvinson, Johannson, Berrgren, and either Mazur or Kaspar to make the team. Sprong & Kane Stoll, gone will open up 3 spots immediatelyâŚFabri is on his last legs, literally. But a player injury-prone. Could be a candidate for a buyout, but they like him a lot. So do I. Next year Perron, Maatta, Petry are gone, Chiarot traded. I can dreamâŚ
