2025 Mock Draft Thread

I agree, On defense you can mix and match depending on the situation. The D Line all rotates You have some better run stoppers and some better pass rushers. On The O Line you are expected to take every snap no matter the situation. If you have a weak link the better teams will exploit it. If our O Line had sustained the injuries that our D Line had we may not have won 9 games. If Goff does not have a pocket to throw from it becomes a turnover fest. I prefer to dominate the line of scrimmage and the other stuff will fall into place.

Exactly this. Glasgow and Jackson were from BQ’s era. 3rd rounders like them aren’t easy to find. Sometimes you hit on some good ones, but this isn’t the chance I want to take. Thats one of my points.

We have to question Decker, Ragnow and GG. I’m thinking they’re declining. Ragnow because of health. These guys aren’t long term solutions. To have elite, like this team has had, you need 5 pieces.

The real truth is this team wins nothing without that OL and if that OL becomes average they will lose games. I finally need my Monty and Gibbs both hitting 1,000 yards. Thats what this team does. Goff must need pocket protection.

Thats how this team is built. They beat you up. Losing Zeitler is a big deal.

As far as defense goes, this defense was very good before the crazy injures and they still managed to go 15-2. Yeah, the Washington game became too much, but if the defense is healthy then they should be good. 2nd, and 3rd round picks to beef up that DL sound good to me.

This is my opinion at least. For all i know Decker, Ragnow, GG will perform in their prime for the next 3 years…haha

Yes and if they needed replacing, I’d be find spending a 1st on it. In fact at T you pretty much have to spend a 1st, unless you’re the Packers.

But we’re talking guards here.

I have said this many times, that if we suffered the same injuries on defense we’d be screwed. The OL is the key to the team, no disagreement. We just disagree on how we go about replenishing it.

But mostly it’s about players, not positions. If Quenton Nelson or Steve Hutchinson or David DeCastro or Alex Mack or even Will Campbell was available, you’d get no argument from me. But they aren’t.

Seems like a useful chart

That… doesn’t look good for Rakestraw? Am I reading that right? Higher is worse?

The QB rating is ugly but we knew about that during last draft cycle.

I had forgotten I guess. QBR, that makes more sense. I thought it was some sort of proprietary PFF rating.

I just saw Dane Brugler’s 7 round mock draft. He has no sensitivity to the Lions needs or my feelings.

Oooh, that might deserve its own post…

My penultimate mock with a week left. Happy to get Tuimoloau in round 2 - think he’s huge value there. I’m a little surprised he isn’t mentioned more often as a target for the Lions.

Ivey and Robinson seem a bit redundant. :man_shrugging:

Thats my plan. Stacking the DL with big bodies. Both can play inside, and outside.

that’s a big boy draft but not much for the pass rush.

It could be. This team isn’t about stats. Aiden will get the 10-15 sacks. Alim will get his 5. Everyone else chips in. Maybe Levi gets better too. Barnes is coming back. Lots of people coming back from injury. I like the traditional big DE. And they both can rush up the middle. And i also want to keep that run stopping going and put a little fear into QB’s trying to run.

Its also playing the lottery. Maybe one of these guys will be a gem.

Elijah Roberts is the best big boy pass rusher. Hell he had the best pressure rate in college football, despite weighing 290

290 is great for a 3-tech who can also play DE.

He lined up predominantly at 5 and 4T at SMU, with a few snaps at 4i. Not many at 3T though it seems like he could very well do it.
