2026 Draft Watch List

Lomu isn’t even my type. I tend to love the phuk em up kind of tackles hence I’m a Lance Heard-stan.

Kayden Proctor LT, Emmaunnel Pregnon OG, Jake Slaughter OC (or Rags comes back). Lets let Goff go Goffing. Who cares if we don’t have any defenses ends or safeties :joy:

Later outlier for us…”Kaden Wetjen broke the long-standing record set by Iowa legend Tim Dwight for the most return touchdowns as a Hawkeye, but he also now lays claim to yet another record. Pro Football Focus has reported that Kaden Wetjen ended the year with a 95.5 punt return grade this season. It is the highest ever by any player in the Pro Football Focus College Era.”

This was Raymonds last season, and Wetjen is also a jet sweep guy as well as a reliable WR. We have a lot of day 3 picks, if he falls I’m in.

How do you feel about Allar now? I am seeing him available in the fourth on mocks, and while I have not watched him in 2025, I feel like his 2024 tape was worth a flyer for sure (obviously since he started the year so highly ranked), but moreso I feel like he could be our “type” of QB.

I feel like the most Lionsy pick in this year’s draft might just be Keldric Faulk. Its not that he is MY favorite player, but rather I think he fits what Campbell/Holmes/Glenn/Sheppard like out of that particular position opposite Hutch. Strong run stopping presence ability to play 4i etc. I would put the Dentist up there too though. And consider where the draftniks have them slotted, a more likely option.

He is definitely a draft crush of mine. I know we may not be in the market, but if he was there in the 2nd…would make more sense too if they didn’t believe in some of the other guys, or if they move Rat to OC.

Sorry, just trying to catch up on the entirety of this thread. I’ve been playing catchup all year, finally dived in over the weekend on some guys. Also, why don’t I see Jacas on some mock lists of top 100 or prospects? Did I miss something?

That’s my preference too, but I’ll take anything that solves the problem. Decker isn’t really that kind of tackle and he’s been very good. For me they just really need to reach a certain baseline of power and that’s where I have some concerns with Lomu. But he’s still young. If we were guaranteed to have an acceptable version of Decker for another year Lomu could be a great pick, but I’m not sure we’ll get that out of Decker.

Then you have your Penning types who definitely check the phuk-em-up box, but lack elsewhere.

You did not, his draft range is just all over the place. I’m pretty sure by draft day he’ll be squarely in the 2nd with a ceiling of late 1st, but right now people are slow to come around. He was also asked to play a little differently this year and I think it affected his output for sure.

Yeah I like him quite a bit too. Maybe the best combo of athlete and power. You’ll definitely have to go back through the tape and find out why he was so middling at USC before this season. That could be explained by coaching and a worse situation, but no doubt the tape never showed anything like this coming.

Oh I hate that type. But Heard isn’t a fake tough guy.

Round 4? Sure. My only reservation is the amount of needs. But those are absolutely starter level of tools in a play style that suits us. Personally I don’t think he hits but the R/R at that point fits IMO.

I don’t think it’s fake with Alex Harkey either. I think he’s a legit psycho on game day.

I don’t either. There are a few of those, though of course it’s still only a check in the pros column. I thought Stenburg was a legit psycho too.

I see some Goff in Allar in some weird way, because obviously Allar has more physical tools and less on the mental side than Goff. But to crystalize maybe: I think they both are comfortable under center and using play action, both throw very well down the middle, will both take a hit, have similar demeanors sometimes maybe (calm/even),and neither play hero ball a lot (conservative). I know what you mean when you say (I think I know anyway) “something is missing”. I sort of get that feeling and find myself surprised by Allar on occassion when he does do something really good. Its like he plays so conservative that he doesn’t impose his will on the defense or something despite all the tools. I watch and I’m kind of like left wanting to see him burn defenses more when he is out of structure. He is decent out of structure too but seems to escape a lot instead of making them pay. Like I said, I didn’t watch any of him this year so maybe some more warts came out. I think 4th round is hendon hooker territory and we could do worse.

He was. He wasn’t a good enough athlete.

I get it. Simply put you aren’t going to get that level of QB tools that late without putting up with some scary, bust suggestive stuff.

Right. And those are the same questions Harkey will have to answer. I don’t think he’ll have any issues though, especially inside. Seems like a much better athlete. Love that he’ll be at the Senior Bowl, we should get some good comparative info there.

I still have hopes that he can be an average pass pro and plus-plus run blocking Right Tackle.

if we have Taylor Decker for one more year, Drew Shelton intrigues me as a buy low type.

I hope he can too, I just don’t think it’ll happen. Of course I’ve been wrong before, never thought Goedeke would last outside either, and maybe Harkey’s arms are longer than they look?

Honestly, he also needs to be a little smarter about his aggression. Far too many personal fouls, and some of them in really high leverage situations. Shades of Branch.

I was pretty intrigued by Shelton coming into the year, but man, he really struggled. Not sure I’m willing to just give PSU guys a pass either for a tough year, Ioane was still good. He’s absolutely got the traits though. I’ll be interested by how high Mahlman ends up too (and how long his arms are).

That’s where I’m at. It’s buy low for a reason. Nice clay IMO.
