4 things I learned from Lions-Seahawks film study

Torrence has been dominant too @Mongoose

Just like in college

Passing on him for Hooker & Brodric reach might be the crime of 2023

Who knows we might’ve been able to get Brodric later maybe not all the way at Sorsdal pick but still cmon man

I admit I haven’t dug into the numbers or anything, just have a Bills-fan buddy who said he struggled with Quinnen. Then again who doesn’t? That’s why I said it’s only been 2 games.

Sometimes it feels like we’re eating the checkers instead of playing.

Look like he held his own against Q his 1st nfl game. That’s impressive.

I don’t remember a player being that good falling to us late since we took Ryan Broyles over Lavonte David.

OCyrus would’ve been a Shaun Rogers level get

Good article.

I think it speaks to the type of guy we were looking for though. I said multiple times pre-draft that while I liked Torrence as a prospect, I didn’t think he was a fit for what Brad, Ben and the rest of them want.

A plug and play player just like I said. Got a lot of shit over liking that guy.

As far as scheme fit? Yes that’s what I heard all off-season here. I wonder if Dan & Ben felt the same way.

Hate to see it, but I’ll be rooting for him

That’s not what I remember you and Husker was 2 that said his collage play ment nothing. It was his QBs that made him look good. They love Hali not sure why they wouldn’t like Torrance .

Right, scheme. But we know Brad falls in love with guys and the fact that we passed on him a few times says he wasn’t one of Brad’s guys. Could be for a lot of reasons, but the fact that a lot of us were saying on here that he wasn’t what we really look for in a OG makes that one of the likelier answers.

Idk, they seemed to be really banking on Big V coming back and the Glasgow signing.

I don’t think they value OG or CB as highly as other positions.

From Holmes track record and moves

The draft is past so I’m not going down this hole again with you mouse, but you are cherry-picking my words to make blanket statements.

Of course his college play didn’t mean nothing. How ridiculous. It’s literally the ONLY thing that means anything to a NFL prospect.

What I said was that “0 sack” number you kept throwing around was misleading and while it should be a part of his evaluation, you had to take it in context. Watching the tape showed he would have given up multiple sacks if his QB wasn’t so elusive. At both schools he played at.

Lol that’s just not true.

What was ridiculous is you guys ignoring that fact. He got pic right about were I said and he is playing well. Then it’s even more ridiculous you come on here a tell Jman that he didn’t play that well because he struggled some with Quinn Williams the best DT in the game his 1st start. Now that’s cherry picking.

I admitted I was only going off the word of a Bills fan, I shouldn’t have made that blanket statement.

However you seem to be under the impression that you either like a prospect or you don’t, whereas as I see them as nothing but shades of gray. I liked Torrence. I didn’t love him, but he was my 51st ranked player overall. I literally thought he was the 51st best draft-eligible player in all of college football, how is that not liking him?

I didn’t want to draft him at 18 because it was so far ahead of where I thought he should have gone. But in the middle of the 3rd I would have loved the pick.

There are lots of guys I don’t like for us who I think can succeed elsewhere. Torrence was one of them (obviously). Jordan Addison is another example. I actually had him ranked as a 3rd rounder, which doesn’t mean I don’t like him. It just means I like him less than the consensus, but still above a shitload of guys I had in the 4th, 5th, etc…

But he went to an absolutely perfect spot for his skill set. All of my concerns with him - getting bullied off the line and through the route, the worry he might be slot only - won’t matter in Minnesota. All of their WRs play in the slot and outside, and with Jefferson on the other side he’ll see nothing but single coverage, maybe for his whole career.

I’m so glad this board knows who is and isn’t a top tier NFL player into their second game of their rookie seasons. Who needs scouts when you have The Den? Amiright?

I mentioned the Jacobs thing so many times during the game. Big miss by the staff

The guy was a starter day one and went against the best NFL inside pass rusher in the game and he still has 0 sacks allowed. I think that’s pretty good.

Yeah and some don’t follow at all. Because Q Williams is as good as it gets

He did, however, allow a hit and three pressures. DL affect the game even when they’re not getting sacks, and pressures are more indicative of future sacks than sacks are, oddly.

But like I said earlier, who doesn’t have a tough time against Quinnen Williams? I also said it’s only been 2 games in my initial post. The same is true of our guys like Gibbs, who you have taken to calling a 3rd down back after only two games.
