Sewell and Ragnow are both beasts. I hope Penei works out at RT once Decker gets back. Imagine that line. We definitely need to find a RG.

What in the world was Quinn thinking letting Glasgow walk, then breaking the bank on Vaitai? Man was he bad with free agency

Jackson had a rough game in pass pro. I was surprised by that but I think he’ll rebound. Vaitai is what he is. Good in the run game poor is pass pro. I also think they’ll all improve with more reps playing together. The 49ers were smart to run all the games they did against our line.

I think my analogy was something like refusing to pay the stripper money for a good time but then turning around and giving the same money to the crack whore around the corner.

Does PFF add-up each teams grades along their O-line to see who has the best graded line and so-on down the list? It would be interesting to see where we’re at.

I thought Maitai did better than his grade but admittedly wasn’t paying a great deal of attention…and still saw Jonah getting beat too much.

Its amazing how much damage he did in his time here. Seriously. Its truly astounding when you add it up. He inherited a team with playoff talent. By the time he left he had our franchise QB wanting a trade and stiffed our HOF WR so bad he is still mad at us.

Nah

GG was a pretty good player. He was a high end escort

The rest of it works.

Not to mention degraded our best CB and Safety into wanting out of Detroit.

Agreed - Vatai and Jackson are both better run blockers. They were also both working with tackles they have not worked with much prior to this week. I think pass pro will improve over time.

Theoretically what we’ll have when Decker returns.

And people want to trade the 80, move the 79 to LT, and plug the 52 in at RT because Mike Valenti says so?

You don’t abandon a long term plan (Decker on a long term deal at LT, Sewell on a long term deal at RT) because your rookie had 1 good game at LT.

Stick to the plan, Lions.

In 4 years, when Decker’s contract is coming to an end along with Sewell’s, that’s when you can talk about moving Sewell to LT. He’ll be turning 24 years old then and can play LT for this organization for the next 10 years. Until then, we’ll have solid tackles on both the left and right side which is a good thing.

What amazes me about Quinn being so terrible with free agency is that he was on the pro personnel/scouting side in New England for his last 7 years there.

So… was Belichick just making all of the decisions and doing all of the actual work… and letting Quinn collect a decent check for doing a donkey balls job???

Slay I can live without. Good player for us but clearly on the decline and not worth a huge contract. Diggs is the one that really hurts. Especially when you have to watch Harris play. I didn’t like that pick when Quinn made it. And I like it even less now that he’s on the field.

The thing that I always questions about Matt Patricia too, on a related thought, is if you look at his defenses in NE, they really aren’t that good. When he left their defense got better with Flores, and its no wonder Flores is a better HC. And Quinn was on the inside too.
