You’re not getting it. Or you’re just not reading my post. BH is aggressive during drafts. Trading up for this guy, that guy, etc. These aren’t vets. These arent rentals. These aren’t guys passed their prime. These aren’t superstars that cost a million dratt picks and a billion dollars. These are guys they hope to develope for the long term who can turn out to be great. Again, see Kerby, or Alim.
I completely agree… Have you been hacked Mafia? Last week you told us Tyleik was a huge bust, now you are singing Brad Holmes praises.
anyways I like your positivity
Once lions get bounced in wild card game Lions fans will look forward to next year and will be happy they have a competitive team.
Knowledgeable fans know that the Lions window is closed now and are furious.
Closed might be a bit extreme. Windows in this leage open rather quickly. The Rams so called “sold out” to win a Superbowl in 2021 and by the end of 2024 they were competing for a chance at a Superbowl again. And now they are arguably the best team in the league. Oh and we have two 1st round picks next year ![]()
But I’m willing to call a spade a spade. I do think Brads weakness is the lack of urgency. I think he’s a great GM. If I were to “sell out” to win a Superbowl. I’m not sure this is the best year for DET to do it. They are arguably the 4th or 5th best team in the NFC behind LA, Philly, GB, and possibly Seattle.
But it’s fair to question if Brad would make that “get over the hump” move if presented with the opportunity. The Lions still have a really good roster. Fix the O-line and the defense stay healthy for once and they are in the mix. Barring Shep and Morton being plus coordinators.
Hey now, I never said he was a “massive” bust. I’m just disappointed he hasn’t played well so far, or to the standard i have as a 1st round opick. But I did say he (and Arnold) deserve 3 years. I ahevn’t checked but he didn’t play much against the Vikings did he? I saw him on one GL situation.
In this particular case, I don’t think there was an opportunity. You’re just not going to get a good OL with a mid-season trade. Most teams (properly) hold on to those guys at all costs. If there were a time to get an OL outside of the draft, it would be in free agency.
I now believe he really thought Rags was staying another year, or I think he would have plucked an experienced center in free agency this past spring.
Rumor has it from tits (IFKYK) is that the Lions were actively looking to make moves, but asking prices were WAY too high… 1st for Trey… 2nd for Jermaine Johnson
