Aaron Glenn is otherworldly

There are several things at play here. But without going into a diatribe, getting Anzalone back and what he brings is huge. Not just in terms of communication and leadership, but the fact that he’s our best cover LB. I seem to remember RBs and TEs gashing us that game. And has been said multiple times, Darnold is not Allen. I don’t care how good the Vikings have played with Darnold, when Allen and his weapons are in top form, they’re a different animal.

That game meant a lot last night for the Lions. Not to say Buffalo didn’t, but you don’t empty your bag in a regular season game against an AFC opponent that you might see again in the SB. I cannot put into words how important getting Anzalone back was/is.

Darnold finally looked like Darnold. Dude was ass. We scared him.

His defense has been slipping, badly, but he stepped up his side of the ball when the chips were on the table. Props from all of us.

He’s been making chicken salad out of chicken shit for most of the season.

This time it was actually tasty.

If AG had all his guys (Hutch, Alim, Davis, Davenport et al) this would be one of the most complete football teams of all time. I truly believe that.

That’s why, when the Lions win it this year, we will be the favorites to repeat!
(Whoever the D coordinator is!) These guys will all be here, I believe.

I agree that having AA back was significant, that Darnold is not close to Allen’s level, and that this was the more important game.

But I also think Buffalo and Minny were pretty close in terms of offensive production this year. Buffalo has the elite QB but Minny has a better cast of skill players. And ultimately we had a clear plan for Minny that worked, but had no answers for Buffalo. Hard to believe that scheme doesn’t have something to do with it.

Yes they did, was surprising with this officiating crew.

Alex Anzalone didn’t play vs Buffalo.
He changes things in the middle of the field, significantly.

Yep.
Last night showed that pressures do matter, they do impact games. It was mentioned on one of the shows how often he was throwing off his back foot. The early sack by Smith set the tone, the pressures continued all night long

I’m planning to watch the game again and focus on Amik as much as I can…. because it seems that he may have been the key to limiting Jefferson.

If so……

all of the discussion that he is a better outside CB may be true…

and….

he could be a sneaky choice as defensive player of the week!

JJ is the best WR in the game and has been for years now. Amik would definitely be a worthy candidate for that nod.

Getting AA back was huge
Also Z Smith had a great game, what a great addition and just wait until Hutch gets back and those 2 are on the field together

“I mean we felt like some of the calls that should have been called out there didn’t get called,” Jefferson said. “They held us a lot. A lot of calls that were left out there. But that’s not something we’re looking toward. That’s not something we’re going to put the blame on…”

No, of course, Justin, it’s very clear that you’re not blaming the calls.

Sending a msg for the potential rematch is what he is doing.

I politely disagree. JaMarr Chase is the best WR in the NFL. Superfreak.

Yeah, he easily the best this year. Good call.

Z’Darius Smith made a statement along the line of, “it’s the same guys as when I was there. I went against them every day, and I know their weaknesses.”

So IMO the issue with the Bills was no AA. The Bills exploited the Lions LBs all game long. They saw a weakness and exploited and attacked it all game long.

Again the Bills don’t worry me. It is all about the Lions at this point.
