With 16 teams in the NFC and only 18 of these awards given out it’s pretty impressive this much maligned defense already has two and they came from rookies.

Yeah, its taken a minute for these guys to grow but it looks like its happening now. If we can get a few differences makers in the draft and grab a good FA or two our defense could take some big steps next year.

For what it’s worth, GMFB (Schrager) had Hutch and Kerby in their Fabulous Five rookie performances from Week 11. Not bad, 2 out of 5 slots.

Good observation…,

it usually DOES take a while for defensive players to assimilate to the NFL. There are exceptions of course…, but many players need a year or two to really start making an impact.

This team is making strides… and it sure would be nice to get healthy… but I have NOT been as optimistic about the team’s direction since the early 90’s….
