All Star Game

Is tonite.

Finally, it’ll be worth tuning in, with 6 (right?) Tigers on the squad.

Gleybor and Reilly are batting 1-2. They are the only two AL all-stars with at least one hit off of Skenes (granted, many have never faced him). Javi is batting eighth.

Maybe…it’s just one more all star game I typically don’t watch even with the Tiger players, not sure I will watch much of it.

If anything leads me to watch it will be see the reaction the ABS system being employed brings, but, even then, just a couple of innings.

Yea hard to get excited about a meaningless game. I remember Vlad won mvp of the all star game a couple years ago. It meant absolutely nothing. Just hope no one gets injured.

I’ll watch it until the starters get pulled.

I am a little excited to see Skubal against the top of that lineup. If nothing else that should be fun.

I hope Skubal beans Ohtani with 101mph on the 1st pitch  then walks off the mound and chugs a cold beer!

“Coolest thing is, first inning four Tigers will be on the field to start the All Star Game.”

Good call Riley.

Detroit Tigers All-Star outfielder Riley Greene received multiple invitations from MLB to participate in the 2025 Home Run Derby on Monday, July 14, at Truist Park, the site of the 2025 All-Star Game.

The 24-year-old is tied for eighth among MLB players with 24 home runs, averaging one homer per 16.5 plate appearances. He also ranks third among AL players on the leaderboard, with only Cal Raleigh’s 38 homers and Aaron Judge’s 35 homers ahead of him.

But Greene declined MLB’s invitations.

“I’m just trying to stay healthy,” Greene said Tuesday, July 15, less than four hours before the All-Star Game. “It’s a lot of swings. Some guys can do it. It’s meant for some guys. I don’t think it’s meant for me right now.”

By declining MLB’s offers, Greene turned down an opportunity to earn $1 million during the All-Star break.

For the Home Run Derby, all eight participants are guaranteed $150,000, with the winner receiving $1 million and the runner-up receiving $500,000. The player who hits the longest home run adds $100,000 to their payout.

Greene has an $812,400 salary in 2025.

“I haven’t hit on the field in two years,” said Greene, who only takes batting practice indoors. “I don’t think I would have maybe done a good job.”

How the heck do you watch Lions games? We play in prime time every other week it seems these days.

Well Lions game and an All Star game do not deserve the same effort. Not to mention the driving I’m doing tomorrow.
Lakeland
Orlando
Melbourne
Jacksonville

All on the schedule for tomorrow.

I’m not a huge fan of Sunday or Monday night football games to be honest. I like that we are good and playing in prime time comes with that so I’ll take it. But the games often don’t end until midnight and if we win I’m all fired up and can’t sleep. Not ideal if you gotta get up early Monday or Tuesday morning.

Afternoon games are better if you wanna eat some wings and have a few beers.

Few beers and football don’t work too well in my group…

Haha exactly. Which makes night games even harder. Lol

Well, lineup intro’s are a tad different…

Javy is actually an all star starter.

Imagine hearing that 365 days ago.
