Oh it would be great for Oklahoma State… which is exactly why it won’t happen. The blue bloods want to slough as many teams as possible without having to take any of the blame. This system lets the gap widen and widen naturally until it happens anyway. Why would they change it?
Treat them like the coaches are treated.
You have a 4m NIL deal with team A, which includes a buyout in order to leave.
You want to transfer, sure pay the buyout number.
Yes, overly simple and won’t work.
First question is does the B1G and SEC, the real DM, want to let the NCAA continue to control things in football? I think the answer is no.
Have they been controlling it really? The leagues/teams have been setting their own schedules, etc… for a long time now, and reaping almost all of the profits. I’ve always heard the only reason the NCAA was “allowed” to keep existing was because the schools didn’t want to administer their smaller sports. And they gave them the NCAA Tourney as a bone to pay for their operating expenses.
I dont know why people seem upset, ncaa sports has always been about the haves and the have nots. This is just more of the same, pay the man his money or he moves on. Kid is betting on himself, we will see if it works out for him.
Too funny.
What you are suggesting is creating policies that save schools who heavily target players that are only after the highest dollar available. That will literally skew the results in favor of those schools, and encourage other schools to adopt the same approach. You are literally giving them a backstop from their own recklessness.
I’m amazed the major conferences haven’t met yet to try and iron out an agreed upon system. The more this happens the more likely it will happen, but everything is so, so slow with college sports. This is why they are in the position they are in.
Next QB Rico Imastaya
That is legal? News to me. Tons of programs should be doing that. Although could be a lot of extra work for an nfl player.
And then we saw his face Nico Iamaleava
I will show myself out
Most recent word is that Nico will land at UCLA…
and there is some speculation that he cost himself some money.
The number hasn’t been been leaked…
but it is widely believed that UCLA is not paying as much as he was getting at Tennessee.
Of course… there are also statements coming out from Nico’s people that it “wasn’t about the money”…… implying he didn’t like Tennessee’s offense or the personnel additions made to it this offseason.
.
.
Welcome to the free market Nico, sometimes you bet on yourself & you win. Sometimes you bet on yourself & you lose.
Football is such a team sport if Nico was actually acting the way reports are leaking, TN will be less talented but better off without him
