Antonio Brown Update

Wow, what a blast from the past. Lots of hours spent doing just that.

Is it still there?

In the NFL the player can be cut for any reason or no reason at all. Calling it “grounds for dismissal” is irrelevant. The question here is guaranteed money, and how guaranteed it is and what qualifies as “behavior issues.” Eric Ebron was a douche, but I don’t want to live in a world where the Lions can revoke all of his contractually guaranteed money for that. That’s the road you are going down.

I side with teams/owners 80%+ of the time. This is one of those times I can’t do it. I’m okay with some convoluted compromise where they owe him some money but not all of it. But if they walk away completely free of charge…I can’t support that.

The teams have remedies for Brown’s behavior built into the CBA. They have suspensions, fines AND they can cut him while owing his guarantees. The idea that they can just cut him without owing a single cent of those guarantees isn’t something I can support.

It seems to me you’re trying to blur the lines of being a douche and clear-cut conduct rules. Sexual misconduct and threatening a woman is not the same as “being a douche”, threatening your GM is not the same as “being a douche”.

Not to get too deep in the woods on this but…

…how much time did this Antonio Brown guy end up serving for raping all these women?

Yep. I call certain people and even some computers that name all the time.

How much time did Kobe Bryant spend for raping the woman he raped? How much time did Ben Roethlisberger spend in jail for raping the woman he raped? Money will keep him from doing time. It doesn’t mean he’s any more than a rapist, he’s just a rich rapist. Kind a like Roman Polanskl. Kind of like Epstein.

So Kobe and Ben were cut, and all of their guaranteed money was instantly revoked…correct?

Only talking about how much time they did. But, if you want to argue, which one of Kobe or Ben threatened their owners? This is not about his money, this is the team disputing having to pay him because he violated the personal conduct policy agreed to by the NFLPA. The real surprise isn’t that you think this turd deserves the money, Ben was suspended without pay, I have to look it up but Kobe’s came to light in the off season, several years later… the NFL is a lot of things but when they rushed an investigation into Adrian Peterson, they took it on the chin.

“Personal conduct policy.” Great generic term. Now feel free to point me to the specific words in the policy that Brown violated the policy and justifies revoking ALL of his guaranteed money. I will enjoy waiting.

Conduct harmful to the shield. I’m not gonna do the work for you. You can go to the website and get the direct quotes you require. I don’t need them, is already admitted to sneaking up behind her and Jacking and his dick on her back. I don’t need anything else to tell me he’s a piece of shit. He doesn’t deserve shit from anybody except a good ass beating.

So jacking off is in the CBA, good to know. Anything else, while we are at it? How far in this back and forth are we going to address Antonio Brown’s ability to do what he was contractually obligated to do…play football?

Oh let me guess. We will start taking back GUARANTEED money for jacking off as the first step. THEN we will move to the douchebags. Then we will move to the injured guys…because ■■■■ those guys, they didn’t play. Next we will move on to underachievers. Am I right?

I’d tell you what you are but it is against the rules.

Sadly, this one questions the both of you. Basically, rule one of corporate America. Protect thy interest.

LOL Antonio Brown didn’t break his contract, his contract broke him!

Fuck all that shit. Seriously, I can’t even…

You are right, it is a generic term. Do anything to make the team look bad and they have the right to terminate your contract.

AB has a track record, if a team says " hey, you have a history already, we’ll give you a chance to prove everyone wrong and we’ll pay you 30 million if you can behave yourself."…and if you don’t, then you’re out.
Plain and simple, no need to “wait for answers”, Wes.
Not every player has to be treated the same.

You are conflating 2 things. They have a right to terminate their relationship with him and release him. I’ve got no issue with that. I have an issue with getting off completely free of charge from all contract guarantees. If you are okay with a team being able to completely discard its contractual obligations on a player’s guaranteed money because he ran a stop light…I can’t follow you down that rabbit hole. Sorry. And I’m one that sides with the teams and owners 80%+ of the time. I can’t do it here.

You would be wrong anyways, so what’s the point?

It’s deeper than that with AB imho…

Many pros end up winning the big game and literally hours later are sitting there asking themselves “why am I not happy?!” Ask Robin Williams why Je offd himself. Success is temporary: substance substains …

Dude needs to go help people with all the money and time and energy and maybe he will start to feel good inside. He know nothings of life except how to play a game to have self approval or worth imho… sad

Run a red light? …and I’m the one conflicting things. LOL

If you sexually harass a lady at work and then threaten her, do you think you’re going to get anymore money from your company?
I for one am glad that teams aren’t rewarding stupidity!
