Any concern?

I am seeing people saying they are worried about the lions after the bad performances by GB and Minnesota, effectively saying we feasted on them and they werent as good as people thought.

This is a lazy take imo considering the division had a fantastic, almost best ever, record outside of the division.

With that said, do you have any concerns about our abilities to get to and win the sb based on the outcomes from the wildcard round?

We lost to Tampa Bay and Buffalo. Both playoff teams. A one and done. One, probably a top 2 finisher.
We beat a lot of good play off teams. We’re top one in the league.

I mean, we also beat the team that just knocked the Vikings out, so…

Not our fault they didn’t come ready to play. We control what we can control; beat both teams down 4-0. In my mind we broke the Vikings and Sam Darnold last week. These teams have to get jacked so high to try and topple the Lions that when they fail to do so, they have nothing left in the tank for other opponents.

The Lions played more playoff teams 8 than anyone else and they lost two of them.

Lions - Played 8
TB And BUF = L
LAR, MIN, GB, MIN, GB, HOU = W

PHI - played 7
TB, WA, = L
GB, WA, LAR, BAL, PIT = W

LAR - played 5
DET, GB, PHI = L
MIN, BUF = W

WAS - Played 6
PHI, TB, BAL, PIT, PHI = L
PHI = W but Hurts went out.

Nice leg work there. It makes the situation a lot more objective.

That said we are winning the SB this year if we can do two things

  1. No turnovers and stupid mistakes
  2. Just score every time you have the ball (and eat up clock keep the other team off the field) and get off to a fast start (no slow starts).

Yeah I know these are the best teams in the playoffs and you’re probably not going to score “every” time but all I’m saying is the more hyper-efficient you are your odds of winning become really high. The Lions D then just needs to get enough stops or force a few FGs.

The Rams did both last night: got off to an early lead, had no turnovers and they won handily.

I feel like the Lions can beat both Philly and LA. But even though the Eagles have Saquon, I fear the Rams probably more than Philly if they win next week and are peaking coming into Ford Field.

Imho, their young defense can help counter our two paths to victory I made above better than Philly can… IF LA plays like they did last night! Stafford and Nucua can put up enough points on O to be the perfect complement.

Otoh, our line might be a better challenge for the Rams D as well.

We shall see.

Everyone’s worried about the defense.

I started a post before the Minny game debating our defense wasn’t as bad as people think.

I also think the Lions offense is the X factor. Teams have to put up points and make few mistakes to beat the Lions.

The Rams lead by Stafford are the team that scares me the most because they have the offense to score with us.

I think we beat Wash and I hope PHI can beat the Rams. I’d rather face PHI…hopefully we have Hutch for that game.

No. The Lions are built for this. Three things to
consider. 1). we will out rush the commanders.
2). The lions will score more than 27 points against
that defense.
3). The only way the Lions lose is turnovers.
The lions can actually give up on turnover just not two.
Lions 34 - Redskins - 20. They will always be the Redskins.

I am concerned about our ability to out duel Allen, Lamar or Pat. But I would be regardless of our resume.

No sir

My only concern is the Ravens. I think its the one team that might be able to beat us up. Go Bills!

No real worries, because we are objectively the better team, but it is the NFL and anything can happen. Jaden Daniels has some magic in him, but the Lions win this 8 out of 10 times.

That is gonna be an epic game I think… Bills 31 Ravens 28 I’ll say but it may come down to who has the ball last. Ravens winning would not be a surprise.
