Any ideas for a nickname for the offensive line?

Ragnowrak and the Coco-nuts … maybe they should retire and form a Beach Boys cover band

As long as no one plays the part of Mike Love, all for it!

(Also that was not necessarily a politically charged statement, mike love is by far the worst beach boy and tried to take credit for Brian Wilson’s genius, just wanted to clarify so it doesn’t go down that avenue)

No. I knew what you meant. Brian Wilson was a magician.

Not to turn this into a beach boys thread, but man, the melodies, key changes, chord progressions… he was arguably every bit as good if not better than everyone else at his time.

Still trying to figure out the exact chord progression to God Only Knows! Musically there is a ton packed into that 2 minute song!

You know who was also a wizard in the studio in that era(ish)… Brian Eno.

Oh for sure. Love Brian Eno as well. Another green world, all his ambient work… amazing artist for sure!

Actually if you like the ambient stuff, another artist I discovered around the same time as Brian Eno was William Basinski. Most famous for his Disintegration Loops, but he has a lot of other stuff I really enjoy.

For sure. “The Big Ship” from that album and “in Pepeteum Mobile” by Penguin Cafe Orchestra are the two most beautiful moving songs that I know. Per my tastes of course.

But Eno has some great rock songs too. The Guitar work on “Baby’s on Fire” is off the charts. Some combination of Robert Fripp and Paul Rudolph with Eno tying it together seamlessly. Really special stuff IMO.

Okay. Back on topic. I swear.

We could call them the Samoa’s. Vaitai will be named after the Island and the Girl Scout Cookie.

That’s a big statement to make.

I do expect this OL to be one of the leagues best. Very likely a top 10 OL and possibly even top 5.

But the best in Lions history?

The Lions once had an OL that had Lomas Brown and Kevin Glover on it. Those two guys had a combined 10 probowls.

If you look back through Lions history you will see the Lions have assembled an impressive OL many times

Let’s hope this is the next great one to be assembled and let’s hope it brings back the run game we’ve been waiting for since Barry retired.
