I already dont see Branch coming back this year. But zero word on

From a couple days ago.
Kerby, Branch, LaPorta - they’re all improving. None of them are practicing. That’s the best I can tell you.
LaPorta’s taken some walk-throughs, jog-throughs.
The most important thing is continue to let them improve, rehab. That will take precedence right now. They’re in meetings. Just take it day-to-day.
Essentially we won’t know much until August
Its rough when you look at any of these guys situations. The likelyhood any of them contribute this year is small. I’d say Laporta probably has the best chance? I just dont see how branch can be anything for us this year.. Achilles injuries to secondary players is typically a career ender.. add to that it was later in the year.. no way we see anything this season. Kirby is a strange one.. since its a chronic issue that can’t fixed with surgery. So does taking off the latter half of the year, and this offseason allow him to get to a point where it can be managed? Most likely our secondary is going to be a rough watch this year. Maybe we can get laporta back, and our line can gel, so we get back on top offensively, and it helps us take control of games.
Branch will be back but not until after the bye week imo
Even if branch comes back at some point.. I doubt he is even close to the player he once was. Most DBs are out of the league shortly after an achilles injury. I honestly can’t think of 1 who was good post injury. Only a few players in general.. like terrell suggs, but I can’t come up with 1 DB. Maybe Richard Sherman.. but honestly it seemed like he got away with mostly name recognition and wasn’t great for the niners before aging / retiring.
You know I didn’t believe you were right so I decided to google.
Not an impressive list of guys who play DB and have overcame that injury.
I hope BB is one of the few.
that was deflating.
The surgery technology has improved dramatically the last 10 years or so, so theres a better chance, but we wont know for sure.
But LaPorta should be good to go Week 1 no problem at all.
Kerby might be good to go week 1 but might be limited.
Those two we definitely have to wait till mid July, when mandatory camp starts, to get a better idea.
Everyone else should be 100% at the start of camp
Branch however. The soonest i see him coming back even in a limited capacity is after thanksgiving.
Some guy who works at Chipotle called into 97.1 and said, Kirb told him he is fine. lol
Well does he like that place. I mean it could be true. Ive ment some celebs working before
So either Kerby lost his leg or he is completely fine, or anything in between… got it! I tend to believe he wont be around much longer and Branch is likely to have to shift to WLB for any chance at extending his career…
He’d have more credibility if he worked at Chili’s.
Well he better gain about 25 pounds of pure muscle for that.
The truth is we just have no idea about any of these injuries and rehab. I hope for the best but don’t expect much from Branch or Kerby this season. Like coach said one day at a time for both of them.
Those mozzarella sticks though
I want my safeties back safeties back safeties back…
(then trade for Sauce)
.
Short video of Branch, not really insightful though.
.
Branch’s timeline is still November……
The thing that makes me more optimistic about branch, returning in a meaningful way - even if some of his speed and explosion is gone dude is a ridiculously smart football player. So he might not be all pro caliber like he seemed to be becoming for us. But if he’s Glover Quin back there that’s a win still.
Lions are going to blow the NFL’s collective mind by rolling out a new-look defense of 5 corners and no safeties.
Anyone remember when Cocaine Wayne trotted out a gimmicky 2-5-4 defense mid-game against Minnesota and the Vikings crapped their pants because the offense didn’t know what to do?
I am more worried about the corner spot than safety.
Like of we have 5DBs on the field. And say kerby isnt good to go. Who are the 5DBs?
Reed - Below Average (for us last year)
