This hurts. Damn. I hate it. He was our guy and leader during the whole rebuild. I wish him the best and I’m glad he got a decent deal. Its going to be weird without him. Or Decker or Montgomery.

I love the guy and he’s getting old. But that is peanuts. Cheaper than Barnes. And AA is way better than Barnes

Thought his play dropped off a bit last season and it was time to move on. But in saying that he is probably the best FA signing we made in the Holmes/Campbell era.

That Barnes contract was a head scratcher at the time, and looks worse as time goes on. One of the rare whiffs for sure.
I agree. I understand all moves - no criticism from me - but also on a human level it’s going to be weird watching the Lions with no Decker, Monty or Anzalone. Talking respected vets, captains and locker room leaders. Hard to replace since it goes deeper than just on field talent. We’re going to need to prioritize guys who can be culture setters with so many leaders removed from our roster

It does seem like we’re getting rid of a lot of the guys who acted the most adult like - Anzalone, Decker, Montgomery. And we’re keeping all of the sh*t talkers and hip thrusters. Very interesting.

They didnt want to pay him $12m for 1 year.*
$9m for this year and $3m void. Hell be cut traded or extended before the season next year because he isnt going to be willing to play with only $3m in guarantees. Like with the Lions last year
