The Lions have been bottom 8 in the league 4 of 5 years under MCDC and I am beginning to believe he needs to bring in someone who is much better as MCDC is all about offense and k owes 100% what is needed on that side of the ball.
BH has given them talent and the scheme and DC have under performed with the talent he has been given.

And he would have worked just fine with St. Brown. Especially with Gibbs and Jamo out there as well creating space.

We also need to use him some in the flats. Maybe have him work off of LaPorta with Sam usually being the underneath guy and flip it. Teslaa is a load once he gets a head of steam.

I stand by original point on draft day, this isnât Madden. We arenât gonna draft WR round 1 year after year.
JSN amazing talent, amazing player, great draft pick. Iâm glad we got Gibby and Jack they fit our roster much better.
I wanted Skoronski in that trade down scenario, to avoid this problem we had this yearâŚinterior OL wrecking our season on offense.
Turns out trading for Jonah & Thuney + Ben Johnson was the right answer

Millen kept taking receivers in the first and landed a Hall of Famer. The first was a let down and the two in the middle were bigger busts than Dolly Parton, but eventually the blind squirrel found his Megatron acorn.

Funny, youâre using the very same argument here that I used against DeJean 
At a certain point itâs not about the position or the fit, itâs about the player. You loved DeJean regardless of his fit on the roster, just like I loved JSN.
However I still think the argument used against JSN - that he couldnât play outside - was hogwash, and so itâs been proved. He played 80% of his snaps outside this year, his best season ever. I was on the opposite side of the argument with DeJean, I thought he was much better inside than outside, and that has born out. Heâs a league-average CB outside but a stud in the middle. Iâd still love to have him, donât get me wrong (especially now that Branch has put a DeJean-sized hole on our roster), but the reasons I wasnât as high on him are there to see. And for us he would have been
That said Iâm completely thrilled with the way it worked out too, wouldnât change a thing. I just would have been thrilled with JSN as well.
Finally in regards to the fit of that 3rd WR⌠we gave up the equivalent of pick 55 this past draft for TeSlaa and a 6th rounder. Not as expensive, granted, but still a lot of capital, and into even more of a roster crunch than what JSN would have faced, with Jamo established and Gibbs already on the roster. And I know you like that pick (so do I). Like I said, at a certain point itâs the player, not the pick. TeSlaa brings a different profile than JSN would have, but certainly not a better one.
Anyway, I thought the argument that he didnât fit the roster wasnât true then and I donât think itâs true now. If it was, we wouldnât have paid what we did to trade up for TeSlaa. Clearly the brass sees the value of that 3rd WR spot.
Well we still desperately need a NB/playmaker on defense. And now long-term prospect at Safety is a big question which really sucks.
On offense when we are healthy⌠we donât have enoughs balls to go around to feed Jamo & Laporta and youâd want to sacrafice an All-Pro defensive asset for another WR.
I disagree. As @BrokenGlass284 mentioned, the Millen years proved that does not work in building a franchise.

Yep, with our current roster Jack Campbell is a more valuable player to us than JSN. Unless you were planning to trade Jamo and replace him with JSN. Thatâs an upgrade at receiver, but losing Campbell to do it makes it at best a wash for me.
I donât want to change anything either, but weâre making these decisions now based on hindsight. At the time of DeJeanâs draft Branch looked like a superstar N/S, while at the time of JSNâs draft Campbell was a consensus 2nd round pick. Granted things have worked out differently (one in our favor, one against), but we can only make our decisions based on the information we had.
And I believed at the time JSN would have been fantastic in our offense, and nothing you can say will make me think otherwise.
Now with the benefit of hindsight, would I change things? No, not at all. But my original point - that JSN was awesome and would be awesome not only with us, but with any team - still proves true.
