Ballard fired

trade 2nd and 3rd for Sauce and Winfield

Man, life comes at you fast….

Last season, Dimes is Dollars, goes 8-5, hits 68% of his throws and adds 5 rushing TDs, you add Sauce and JT runs roughshod all over the league.

6 games in the fans are getting paid off for their chant/protest….dang.

I get they went ofer after their bye last year and faceplanted, but….it was @KCKC, HOU@JAX @SEAJAX,@SEA,@HOUSF,JAX,@HOU so….and Dimes went down.

The D has lost them games this year….Steichen is buying green bananas I think…

Why do you want to pay through the nose for a guy that has been playing like dog shit for like 20 games straight? Even if it’s a 2nd you’re locked into 45m guaranteed through 2028 assuming he’s on the roster the first day of the next league year. Most Jets fans thought Reed was every bit as good as Sauce in 2024 and then thought he was meh in 2025 prior to the trade. His time in Indy has been bad and getting worse. His career trajectory by season is: great, great, good, meh, really bad.

I just don’t see it as paying through the nose. The kid was traded for 2 1sts less than a less ago. Look what Marvin Harrison just got traded for, and he has been just as bad and has never flashed the high end play that Sauce has for more than a game or two.

I will say I have not had the chance to really look into the contract we would inherit.

Can’t the contract be reworked so the Colts have to eat more of the cost?

I wonder if DeadStroke can talk God into answering our questions from heaven.

And it was an atrocious decision. I don’t think they sell him off for a second anyways. They’d accelerate like 20m onto their cap. But their upfront signing bonus was pretty small actually. We’d have a 10m option bonus next year and then big salary commitments. All for a player that has been bad for a calendar year and just fine for the 365 days prior to that. And then we’re out of all our big money shots to fire without seriously hitting up the credit card. It seems like a really bad idea to me.

The Jets did the deal with a small signing bonus and two roster bonuses that were tough to get out of he is guaranteed 25.5m next year. And 20m for 2028 becomes guaranteed if he is on the roster first day of league year next year. Which he will be bc he’s already been committed 25m for that season. So you are inheriting at least a 2/45m contract for a guy that one of the better data focused analysts has as the league’s worst (or tied for it) coverage CB this year once the ball has been thrown. Why would we do that?

I seem to recall he was in big trouble after the 2022 season, but somehow survived.

They went 9-8, then 8-9 in 2024 in 2025. Irsay’s daughters took over in 2025:

Forget draft, by the end of season 1 he looked last the best corner in football

Sauce was arguably the best CB in the league in both 2022 and 2023. Certainly way up there. Then he was probably somewhere top 10-25 in 2024 depending on who you ask. His play since has been much worse. I just don’t get the logic of spending so much of our cap plus draft capital on a reclamation project. Especially when we have so few high dollar slots left.

Maybe they can hire Ray Agnew to turn that thing around. We could use a couple of 3rds.
