I think Ben would have to believe that he could work with Caleb Williams. I don’t think he will take a job just to take a job.
I wasn’t there and can’t prove it but I think it went down like this:
2023 = perfect job opening in Carolina…GM says “We’re taking Bryce Young”. Ben says “Good luck” and doesn’t take the job.
2024 = Bears made him a great offer…GM says"We’re taking Caleb Williams". Ben says “Good luck” and doesn’t take the job.
I think Ben:
- Wants to win a SB in Detroit
- Wants to be a partner with a GM like Brad & Dan.

I’m not even sure how good of a pairing Ben and Caleb would be.
All we know is that Ben calls a good offense for a QB like Goff. CW is not that. It’s certainly possible that Johnson could be Reid-esque, but that’s far from guaranteed.

Just don’t see Ben in Chicago.
Their new stadium is years away, and Ben’s latest greatest show on turf is a bad match for Soldier Field’s notoriously shitty playing surface. And lots of cold, and windy outdoor games etc.
That doesn’t even begin to mention how their ownership is nothing like the leadership Sheila has brought. There is simply no comparison.
They need to rebuild their OL first. The Bears have talent but they are definitely not Ben’s landing spot IMO.

Even tho Jax is a total mess right now, I see that being a great option for Ben. Kahn has the dough to make him a great offer, and I still think Trevor can be elite. And they also have loads of young talent on both sides of the ball.

People were dogging Mahomes yesterday and I was think dude just proved he is the best in the NFL. Those Tackles he has are possibly the worse 2 in the league. I am not sure how you can have an Oline that bad with a QB that good. KC needs to double down on the Tackle position this draft or watch the 500M man get broken.

Ticket prices here doubled or close to it. We are playing in more games as a result of the playoffs and making more dough along the way. It’s my hope that they ask him what he wants to stay and simply give it to him because the money is more than there. Where else could he go and have a RT try and throw a pass and have it blow up but nobody cared? He has carte blanche and the players to pull off the kind of things he wants to try and do. Pick a number sir, your holiday bonus awaits.
After the last two offseasons, my suspicion is that Ben’s waiting for Reid, Tomlin, John Harbaugh, McVay or Shanahan to stand down.
Dan has never tried to block his coaches from taking other jobs.
