Ben Johnson is back!

I’ve been following the Lions for 50 years and this is a first.

He also did Steve Wilks a solid. Wilks deserves that job after getting screwed totally by Arizona a few years ago.

He knows what Lions have an likely will add. He is doing what he likes an some people are not made to be HC an all the BS they have to put up with from media an league. Thats why Holmes an MC make such a good team.

I think he see’s a couple moves they may make an he wants to be part of it.

The way Carolina rallied around wilks, that would actually be a very tough position to walk into keeping the same locker room I think. The team obviously respected and played for him… to throw him out and bring anybody else in probably is not going to go over well depending who it is

I think you are onto something for sure…

Plus he gets a full off-season to work with Jamo!

I am naively choosing to believe he came back for his love of this team and loyalty.

Did Randy Marsh get hold of Jim Schwartz’ browser history?

I don’t think that’s naive… I think that’s real.

Dunno if he gets it, he should. But tepper wants an offensive guy. Think Peyton or more likely the Philly Oc.

I don’t understand this wanting an “offensive guy” or “defensive guy”… not disagreeing or arguing with you but just saying, why does that matter? I’d rather have a guy who can lead the team, ya know? I think Wilks proved he could do it… hiring a good coordinator is not always the greatest path to head coaching success, as tempting as it may be.

The lions really nailed it with DC. They chose a guy who was a leader. That’s what I would want as an owner - someone who knows how to lead a team through the ups and downs of the season, someone who understands both sides of the ball, has a clear vision, and also knows who he knows to hire and execute his vision.

And of course have a GM he can work with and will help build the team with the coach vs being adversarial

All but one remaining playoff team has an offensive HC.

Man, coaches, players, and the front office, already jacked for next year.
Oh, fans too.
Campbell and Holmes should be locks for the HOF if they take this turnaround over the top. I mean, this is the Detroit Lions we are talking about.
