Bengals still asking for a first for Hendrickson

Good grief, what a poverty franchise.

He isn’t worth giving a new contract to, but is worth someone else’s first round pick.

He’s definitely worth a 1st round pick…but pass rush isn’t this teams problem…

I know, just waiting for Zeitler news to drop.

Well worth a late first. If that’s all it takes it’s a no brainer for Brad.

Absolutely disagree.

I’ll say it this way. Philly just gave up a 3rd for Jaelen Phillips, who is also a true rental. In that thread, it was said that Phillips isn’t even a guy who moves the needle, if you want to make an impact you need to go after a Hendrickson. On that scale, the Bengals asking for a 1st for a guy who moves the needle, when the price was a 3rd that is just a depth piece, I don’t think the Bengals are wrong here. It’s a true rental vs a true rental, about as close of a comparison as you are going to get.

Elite player at a premium position. He makes everyone on the defense better including Hutch. Good luck finding a guy with his impact at pick 28.

I agree with you if we can sign him (and Branch/LaPorta/Gibbs) beyond this rental period.

1st is too rich for me. He’s a free agent next year he won’t resign with Cincy.

It’s gotta be a 2nd and 5th.

A first rounder for what would amount to a rental is too much. We’re not gonna resign him. Cincinnati won’t sign him and will end up losing him for nothing.

Besides, we have bigger needs right now than DE. I’d give up a third for someone like Bitonio.

He’s not fetching a first. We all know that. I think the Bengals do as well and this is so they can say, “we tried.”

And then they’ll tag him this off-season.

I liked the team better when pass rush was the problem.

Oh, like an old guy who puts an absurd price on his Corvette so he can tell his wife nobody wants it.

Mike Brown doesn’t own corvettes. Blames insurance costs.

Isn’t he an unrestricted free agent after this year?

Yes. But my understanding is the mini bump in pay they did for him did not include language precluding them from tagging him.

If I’m the bengals no way I move until 5 minutes before the trade line. There’s teams out there that may give them what they want or close to it. SF just lost their first round DE so they may be desperate.

Hendrickson only has 4 sacks, but…

His 2025 PFF pass-rushing grade is 90.9, making him the seventh-best edge rusher by that metric. His overall PFF grade for the season is 82.9. He also ranks highly in pass-rush win rate, sitting sixth in the league.

  • Pass-rushing grade: 90.9

  • Overall grade: 82.9

  • Pass-rush win rate: 21.5% (sixth in the league)

  • League ranking: Seventh among qualified edge rushers

True…but I would still be STOKED if they somehow added him
