Bills Thursday: Call Your Shot

Both defenses are primed to give up a lot of points but there are too many Jamo/Coleslaw drops and there’s no threat of the run when Gibbs is out, so drives sputter.

A tidbit from the Athletic:

“One thing worth filing away for this Thursday night and the rest of the season: Over the last two-plus seasons, no NFL quarterback has a better betting record in the second half than Josh Allen. After Sunday’s game-winning touchdown drive, the former MVP is now 30-9 ATS, which matches his ranking in advanced stats after halftime.

The guy adjusts and delivers.”

Because of that, we need a battering ram offense to run the clock and methodically score. That will minimize Josh Allen’s exposure to the new blitz-heavy version of our defense and limit his ability to adjust.

And speaking of adjustments, Kelvin has a couple of defensive wrinkles planned for the second half, right? And not the AG attitude of that worked so well in the first half, so let’s do it again. I wonder about those things.

I’ll never try to predict anything for a Thursday game. Weird factor always cranked to 11.

After hearing all offseason and then from Saints analysts about Petzing’s heavy TE usage, I predicted at least 50% 11 personnel. I guess this is just early downs but about right. Not exactly a radical take but after hearing Petzing this and Petzing that, I feel vindicated. How do you not run a lot of 11 with the Lions skills group?

DET bounces back after hearing all the noise about a shitty home opener. Worried about no Miller but judging from the interviews with players and coaches, they definitely heard it. Grit win.

I take back my comment about all of the 13 personnel helping us prevent explosive pass plays.

Guys got some pipes.

we “might” eek out another win, it depends on injury, penalties, TO’s and luck.

Bills score in the 40s or 50s.

Lions maybe 24.

So lets try 48 Bills, 24 Lions.

no I didn’t , hence the word: penalties /refs.

Lions win. And then lose to the Jets. (who lose at home to the Pack this week).

And the game’s going Under. Somehow.

Be sure to send Dan the memo.
Another streak to break.

Win or lose I think this will be a high scoring game. I lean towards Buffalo…but either of these teams could win this game
