Lets put a crappy American taco chain surrounded by some of the best taquerias in the city!
The new Hot n Now is ok. The burgers are about 80% similar to the old ones, fries are nothink like the old ones.
I went once, probably not again.
Yup- right next door– was Taco Johns (awful tacos) briefly.
At least a half dozen authentic tacos joints within 1/4 mile. Personally, Panchos holds the key to my taco heart.
Too many authentic mex places in that area to bother with buying tacos from a chain restaurant named John. If it was Taco Juan, I’d be in…or Juanita’s Carnitas, I’d be there.
Tacos El Corporal is my go to… Especially after the city ■■■■■■ them over when they built their new restaurant
The fries are actually better than the 80’s fries- LOL. In the 80’s the fries were a sort of cheaper starchier McD’s fry. But it was .39 cents, so we didn’t care. The whole point of Hot-n-Now was: not as good as McD’s but cheaper. ![]()
Me and 3 other guys had 4th hour commons in highschool so we’d go to HotnNow and get a pile of cheeseburgers, fries, and pops and go to one of the guys house and watch game shows for an hour b4 heading back to school.
Makes me angry every time I drive by and see that nice dining area not being used. Dam city!
Its another chicken place
(smiling in North Carolina)
Welcome home brother! The biscuits have been waiting for you…..
Bo - Box great family dinners
Sweet tea is SWEEEEEEET!! I cut mine with water (50/50). Not a joke…..it’s ALL sugar.
Gonna run by that place tomorrow, check the line.
Really bad time for me to start keto ![]()
Speaking of nostalgia, is Russ’s still open on Division in the Cutlerville area?
Yes, it is. Good place for Pie and coffee. And their huge cream puffs! Just realized they don’t have the cream puffs at Russ’s anymore. However, there’s a grocery store in Gun Lake that makes them, but you have to get there early… it’s like the Holy Grail around there.
That Russ’ chicken rice soup is a guaranteed cure for almost everything that ails you
I think they’re pretty damn good.
My go to Mexican place is : Tia Heleta’s in Flint -next to “Rocky’s Outdoor” on Saginaw Rd near Bristol, rd.
