Confused Looking For GIF by Looney Tunes

Me trying to find the excuses I made:

To your credit…you have stayed above that.

Now go on social media and look at the people saying the format is unfair to teams that got a Bye

It’s a brand new phenomenon where the claim “a team had too much time to rest and prepare” is a bad thing.

Nobody says that about the NFL playoffs…playoff bye’s are coveted.

Turnabout is fair…

but I will always talk shit about OSU, that will never stop.

But so far, the playoffs have worked how I was hoping.

Yea, there’s a difference you aren’t mentioning and you damn well know…
how long is the NFL Bye?
How long is the bye for the top four seeds?

I will give ohio state credit for one thing: early in the season I rated Moore as just one degree less of a douchebag than Day… clearly, I underestimated Moore’s degree level of douchebag…he’s at least one degree higher than Day, maybe a little more :man_shrugging:

How long has it been for 100 years from the time the last regular season game in college football was played until the New Years Day bowl games that decided the National Champions before the playoff format?

Oh? The same amount of time as it was from the end of the season until New Years Day this year…
:face_with_monocle:

Actually it was longer because we didn’t play a Conference Championship game in the Big Ten vs Pac Day Rose Bowl Game and the Suger Bowl game days and Orange Bowl Game days when the National Champion was declared after the New Years Day games

Facts. So glad Moore is gone.

I am rooting for Ole Miss…but I couldn’t get myself to put money on them, not even to cover +6.5

So far Georgia doesn’t look rusty from the Bye

Just saying

Again, different situation and doesn’t apply to what is going on now.
One bowl game where both teams have the same bye?

Not even close to the CFP situations.

I said earlier it is too small a sample size for any definitive determination but your comparison fails.

To me, the whole Bye Week conversation says more about the NCAA being shitty at seeding teams since they started having Bye’s than anything. And the inclusion of teams just to chek a box (Group of 5) rather than pick the best teams. And they have seemingly made an effort to avoid having teams that just played each other play each other again right away…both of which hurts the ability to truly seed correctly. But that is just speculation of course of what said at the decision table.

I think there is a whole bunch of factors that play into it more than just "this team had an extra week to rest/get rusty.

But as you said…the sample size is to small to be convincing, much less definitive.

Bang…Ole Miss takes the lead.

Wonder if Lane is rooting for Ole Miss/his former guys and the program he built….or if he’s hate watching like the douchebag he probably is

Yup. I think the selection committee watched both games and thought a collective “well we won’t make that mistake again.”

You can find idiots from every fanbase that say all sorts of shit on social media.

You will never prove those idiots wrong, because they will never believe an opinion other than their own.

To be fair, both teams playing in the game have historically had all that time off. Now with the new playoff, the argument is that the non-bye team has played more recently and will be less rusty.

And how were the Lions affected by that playoff bye last year?

And potentially have some guys banged up during the recent prior game while the other team is fully rested and healed :man_shrugging:

Fair point. Potentially being the key word.
