Teams have holes. It’s the Salary cap era. The Eagles were able to mitigate theirs to some extent bc of their obscene wealth of draft picks. While I’d love for us to play the comp pick game and be more open to pushing draft capital to future years at a premium it’s really difficult for me to complain about Brad and not feel like I’m being ungrateful.
Monday morning quarterbacking of draft picks, especially after a ref assisted loss, is my favorite. Instead of cherry-picking in order to gripe, which is obviously why everyone enjoys this board so much, why not give us the whole picture? Did Brad happen to find anyone that turned out better than people thought, maybe even got a steal in a day three pick? Don’t overlook his high hit rate on Elite players in order to write his resignation letter for him.
Hey if you think Brad did all he could and is exempt from any blame that’s on you, I disagree. This is totally on Brad Holmes. He is responsible for the roster. I remember a bunch claiming this roster was better then last year that we improved, well that was totally inaccurate
Don’t put Tes in that group. He can do it. He just hasn’t been afforded the time.
Might as well put Jamo on the list if you’re going to put put Tes on it.
Correct. And it’s a terrific roster.
Depends on what you call terrific, it’s a not a championship roster. But hey I don’t expect you to understand, one you have already stated that your ok just get in the playoffs each year. And 2 you also stated how me and others were selling Glasgow short and how good he was actually. You kinda have to say that.
I think it can be. Just have to improve and then execute.
I did? I don’t remember saying that. Well maybe at RG in 2023.
Sorry for being well-adjusted and understanding that it is a kid’s game and a product meant for our entertainment.
And did this stop his rebuild of this team??

It didnt stop the rebuild from a trash to good team.
But it stopped them from good/great to championship contention
In your opinion. I happen to think your opinion is wrong but we shall see.
No it didn’t. First off anybody who is a fan of any sport knows that every pick won’t work out. In fact most picks won’t work out. These drafts have not prevented the Lions from greatness. Because you cannot name me anybody that would have been picked that can take the place of Hutch, Sewell . ARSB, Jamo, Gibbs, LaPorta, Branch or Kerby. This team is better than you are giving it credit for. The problem is you and many others react to EVERY SINGLE THING whether it’s good or bad. I mean it’s a pendulum of emotions amongst most of you, therefore, you cannot wait and see how this plays out. The final evaluation is being done by the down because of how bi-polar fans are.
Thank for putting it all together like that.
What a terrible return on a ton of resources. Why do we even care about beans when Brad will spend them all, plus next years and some 5th round picks for BroMart, Vaki, Manu or TeSlaa?
Brad had some crazy bangers, so why not continue that trend instead of lighting them on fire? We all know Brad can pick high talent guys from big schools who are undervalued (Branch). KEEP DOING THAT! Instead of Manu or Bromart, these guys weren’t even on any draft boards and could have been picked up for cash as UDFA’s, just offer the biggest bag and get them.
Instead he spent picks we could have gotten 8 more ARSB, Kerby, Barnes level picks.
Like whom??

That’s the issue. If you would have stayed pat and go with the draft board, its almost impossible that all 12 picks would miss.
Yeah the young guys can definitely improve and they have had some good games, we have the weapons. It surely could turn around. You get guys on a heater and get there confidence up. We could win out. I’m not expecting it at this time but I’m still hopeful and I’ll be watching every game. We took a lot of hit this year, between Coordinators and all pros
Yeah you were talking at RG I believe. You had a lot more faith then me.
@Richard_Parker nailed this one.
Go back through those drafts…. and tell us about the superstars that Holmes missed out on there. ![]()
.
Honestly… the only complaint I can understand about Brad trading up… is that it would be nice to see him trade down occasionally to get future picks.
