OSU makes sense here, except for their history, would they take him back

# Tampering at an all-time high with Texas QB Quinn Ewers
Full article at link.

Sources tell On3 that if the Texas quarterback were to return to college football and enter the portal, he would be one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in college football history. Sources told On3 that Ewers has received a $6 million offer to return and enter the portal.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has Ewers ranked as the No. 5 quarterback in the spring’s upcoming draft. But Kiper also suggested earlier this month that Ewers transfer to a new school rather than being drafted in the second or third round of the NFL draft.

Kiper’s comments have only fueled more schools to inquire about Ewers’ plans for 2025 and the chances of him entering the transfer portal,

The most important aspect of last night.

The SEC and Big 10 haven’t been too discrete about being willing to collude to get concessions (more guaranteed spots for instance). I don’t think their preference is to just go to an all Big 10/SEC end of year bracket with a second NCAA tournament for the rest. But I’ve seen it floated out there so I do believe that will be a point of leverage used to make sure that in the next deal the setup of the tournament more directly reflects the quality of the conferences.

In all likelihood negotiations will probably get ugly…

Given what our staff thinks about Julian Sayin, and how they completely cut Air Noland out of the picture to go get him, I’d be pretty surprised if we did the same thing with Sayin.

Forgot about Sayin, good point.

Ashton Jeanty against top 50% of NCAA rushing defenses (UNLV X2, Oregon, Penn State)

120 carries 633 yards 5.27 YPC 1.25 TDs per game

Ashton Jeanty against bottom 50% of NCAA rushing defenses or FCS teams:

254 carries 1,968 yards 7.74ypc 2.5 TDs per game

Really good player. Definite first round pick. Probable top ten NFL back for several years but IMO the generational talent construct was largely built on the back of damn near coaching malpractice by BSU (in terms of usage) and a disproportionate amount of incredibly long runs that simply would not have materialized at anywhere the same rate against top tier defenses with high level team speed.

In 11 games. We’ll never see anything like it again.

First big penalty of the day goes against Texas, roughing the kicker for 5yard penatly and ASU first down.

I will admit I chuckled.

That is gold. Though with the schedule, I’m expecting them to go to the Championship

Skattebo and Jeanty probably the best 2 RBs in the draft. Both showing issues against good competition

Obviously its absolutely terrible what happened last night in New Orleans. Sending prayers to all of the victims and their families.

But, from a pure football standpoint, Penn State is now going to get an extra 2 days of rest over their semifinal opponent. The Orange Bowl winner is also going to get an extra day of rest over the Cotton Bowl winner for the national championship.

Not a big surprise with security concerns.
Now, can they kick off at 7pm so I might be able to watch the whole game?

My favorite player Cam Skattebo! He’s a combination of Gibbs and Montgomery

Except when playing TX.

Doesn’t having James Franklin as your head coach negate that advantage?

Yes, first and foremost condolences to all impacted by the senseless loss of life.

To me whatever advantage Penn State has is countered by James Franklin being their HC.

Btw, can you imagine what security is going to be like for the Super Bowl?

Wow, I hadn’t really dug into the whole story beyond the headlines until just now. There is definitely some possible terrorism actions associated with this event.

Delaying the game is certainly the right thing to do, beyond just showing proper respect to the victims and their families.

They definitely need at least 24 hours to ramp up security and clear the game site, to include parking facilities near the Super Dome.

The Feds should be sending in additional resources to help secure access to parking and stadium entrances. All cars entering the parking areas checked with dog sniffers, trunks opened, 360 walk around looking at the under carriage with mirrors. The whole shebang.

Obviously no bags allowed into the stadium. More dog sniffers at every entrance. Jackets off with body screeners just like at the airport. Under cover agents scattered throughout the stadium.

They should also think about ramping up security at the other playoff games as well.

I’m sure Homeland Security and FBI are digging into this F’ Head and seeing if they can determine if he was just 1 of a wider network of potential plans.

It’s most likely an isolated incident, but that can’t be assumed at this point.
