Christian Gonzalez Looks Like a Star

So far Christian Gonzalez has looked good, like real good. Even in camp, he’s a legit starting NFL corner. Having him out there in AGs defense instead of Jerry Jacobs would make a difference on a disappointing unit. Instead, the Lions drafted Gibbs while trading away Swift for a bag of chips. It’s going to be interesting to see how these decisions all play out.

We also signed Moseley who has stifled Dk Metcalf in the past.

Yeah the whole Holmes prefect draft stuff could be taking a Hit. We took 3rd down back at 12 and a off the ball LBer at 18. If Jamo fails all of a sudden we’re not looking so good.

Gonzalez ability to stop the deep pass looks elite, plus he will do the other “stuff” it’s kinda pissing me off. We could have had this dude at #12? ##%# 4 PD’s, a pick and a sack in two games?

I could have lived with trading out of 6 had we made better picks than Gibbs at 12. But I really think Jalen was worth the risk. And I wish we had stayed at 6 and taken Jalen Carter. Dominate DTs don’t grow on trees. Running backs do.

Gibbs is going to have to be really, really good to justify passing on Gonzo. He almost looks like a perfect fit for this defense.

Dominant runningbacks don’t grow on trees either. We just got infatuated with the wrong one. Guys like saquon, cmc, bijan are only ever few years

It’s two games so who knows, but Gonzales has been the Pats best defender and that is hard to watch.

I would have supported Gonzalez at 12.

Look, I wanted Carter and also wanted Gonzalez for the 18th pick before the Pats swiped him but it’s going to get annoying around here real quick if we get threads about the mistakes Holmes made every time a prospect they could have had has a good game.

It’s 2 games into their careers, please lets this play out before burning Holmes at the stake.
I do think passing on Carter could be a mistake but am willing to give it more time before passing judgement.

That’s why I bring it up. It’s been that way almost since day one (I live out here in Patriot country). I hate to say it but if he has a sauce like season we are going to crap ourselves

I was a closet Bama fan though. So I’m not really basing it on Lions play. This is who this guy is. He’s a gadget player.

It’s called a football message board, where people talk about football. If you don’t like the topic, don’t click on the thread. You have tons of threads, choose the ones that work for you. But clicking on one with a very specific title and crapping on the topic of a thread you decided to click on - that’s even more annoying.

Schooler scared their kicker to death.

I didn’t say not to create a thread, I’m just stating my opinion which is also allowed.
I even admit that I wasn’t a fan of the 1st round picks. I just feel there’s some overreactions going on because of this loss. Again, just my opinion which really means not much anyway. I’ll show myself out of the thread now.

We should have taken Gonzalez. I really believe that. If others disagree, cool! We still got worked in the passing game and does anyone really think he would not have helped? Seems basic to me.

Pretty sure Gonzalez was who they were hoping for at 18, Campbell was plan B. I also would have supported Gonzalez at 12, really almost anything but a RB.

What a heady play! Doh lol

In Glenn’s scheme I’m not so sure. He had the corners playing like 15 yards off and the Seahawks were taking everything underneath, not sure Gonzalez would have changed that. He would have filled a much needed long term need though.

If Brad Holmes gives AG a young, athletic, long and rangy starting level CB - and we don’t even think that can greatly improve our defense - then we’ve got a scheme problem.
