Glad to see he got some run. In limited snaps, he looked at least like he can play at this level. Didn’t blow anyone off the line. Also, didn’t look bad in pass coverage.
Do you think he has the goods to be a starter as early as next season? We have to consider that Zeitler may not be back.

Ben Johnson was very complimentary of him in a presser last week. Sounds like they like Mahogany a lot. Too bad he missed all of training camp.

This off season is the key, build up the strength to be a PB guard. He has the potential. Brad/Dan saw something they liked, that works for me.

After having mono and missing the summer he’s going to be behind on a strength and conditioning level. His rise up the depth chart is what has me excited. This staff doesn’t care who you are, if you’re not putting in the work and they don’t trust you you’re not playing.

I’ll admit that I have selfish reasons for rooting for Mahogany. In my perfect world he plays well enough to be one of the players interviewed after the game. At the interview one of the reports will ask him:
Do you know where you’re going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to?
Do you know?
Then there will be about 10 minutes of silence.

I’m firmly in the extend Zeitler camp as I believe OGs can play well in their older years, but I’m really pulling for the wood man. So many examples in history of great interior linemen being found late and I think with a full conditioning program mahogany can be something. I’m basically planning on us being somewhere in the early 90s redskins and late 90s broncos level of offensive line development. Throw in a little early 00s patriots for good measure.

I hope Mahogany doesn’t get worn out.
If Mahogany does end up forecasting as a future starter for the Lions what is his preferred spot, LG or RG?
I think they see the biggest amount of upside in mahogany hopefully he doesn’t lose his luster.

Not sure he will appreciate being covered in linseed oil…but you never know…
