How quickly some of us forget that we were the Commanders just last year.
Since 2009 we are 6-1 against Washington
Our only loss was with checks notes Jeff Driskel at QB
Of course. They want a chance beat the top dogs.
Except that they’re not like us. They’re much more like 2022 NYG. Better QB of course but unlike the Lions WAS does not have a pristine foundation from which to build. McLaurin will be 30 next year, they only have one plus OL piece in Cosmi (though Coleman if he slid inside to OG could be as well), on defense they have very good but pricey DTs and an emerging slot and another talented rookie DT.
The cupboard is actually rather bare. They rode an easy schedule and clutch performance to their record. Both are unlikely to carry over. The division will be significantly deeper next year.
But they put themselves in a tough spot in some ways by being ahead of schedule. Now they really have to execute at a high level to surround Jayden with some stars despite not having premium picks.
2025 WAS is winning 7 to 8 games tops IMO.
we have came a long way since 1992, leaps and bounds really, and we have become a lethal and dangerous Pride of Lions-it is they that should be concerned.
I mean, enjoy it! Seriously! It’s fun to have a good team that wins playoff games! It’s new for me, but I certainly enjoy it. Better than saying ‘I hope we avoid X or Y’ team, which is a pretty weak mentality.
But honestly. If the Lions are locked in, I am expecting good things for us. The fire from losing in the NFC Championship game has to eat at them too. I don’t think they will show up ‘rusty’ or ‘sloppy’ this weekend.
Agree with all of this 100%
I read somewhere they won 4 games that they trailed or were tied with 10 seconds left. Not to mention their SOS was on some sites ranked easiest in the NFL for 2024. And the Lions were 7th.
I expect the Lions to cover easily.
And if we’re making predictions about next year, Chicago finishes ahead of GB and Minny.
who is their HC in that scenario?
Uh I think he is talking about the fan base and being excited about their team being in the playoffs.
That could be. However, my point remains.
Remains to be seen, but the talent is there. I guess in the back of my mind they’re making a good choice.
I still think it will be the Packers. But if the NFCN schedule ends up being as difficult as it seems at this juncture it may only be the division winner in the playoffs next year.
Haven’t commented in a while but this is hilarious. Couldn’t be happier to play the Commanders. They have virtually no shot to slow our offense. Gonna need to score 40 to upset us.
I know nobody wants to say they have no shot. But don’t act like you’re happy to play the Lions
Considering how long ago their Superbowl was, this might end up being the most viewed Commander game of all time. So that’s something for them to be excited about.
To be fair after Eagles won they were either playing the Lions or getting ready for next season. So if I was a fan of their I would also want the Lions vs the alternative.
Now after Saturday they can get ready for next season!
