Confirmed: Rams seeking to trade Cooper Kupp

Kristen is one of my crushes. Older hottie.

I think Kupp needs to cut weight to get some quickness back. By my calculations heā€™d drop 8 pounds just by cutting his beard.

Heā€™s got a 91ā€™ Ford Escort with a cracked head that heā€™s trying to move. Brad needs to offer him like 400 bucks. Gets us back-and-forth to work over the next year. If weā€™re lucky, we can squeeze a couple years out of it. Then scrap it out.

Not even just a bad head gasket, weā€™re talking ā€œcracked headā€ here.

Thatā€™s bad.

We might get a third year out of him if heā€™s willing to snort some bath salts before every game.

Letā€™s start with the obvious, his current contract. Kupp has a 7.5mil bonus due 3-15, at which point, 5mil of that is guaranteed. if a team trades for Kupp prior to 3-15, Kupp would carry a 20mil cap hit, with 10mil guaranteed.

Unless the Rams agree to eat a large portion of that money, his contract isnā€™t tradeable. The Rams likely cut him prior to March 15th.

At that point he is free to sign with anyone and does not affect the comp pick formula.

Then the question is what is he looking for? Does he want another payday? Is winning his priority? Would reuniting with his former QB be important to him? Does he want to go somewhere he will get fed the ball?

I know this may sound crazy, but Iā€™d take both Tim Patrick and Kupp. Tim Patrick is an easy resign for 2 years, 8-10mil total.

If Kupp wants to sign for one year for like 5mil base with incentives up to 10 Iā€™d gladly sign up.

Man I think youā€™ve nailed this. I donā€™t know if heā€™s coming here but heā€™s getting cut and I donā€™t think heā€™s being signed for much more 10-12 all in

Love it.

But I can see a team with resources and WR needy nabbing him. Maybe the Bills.

Heā€™s gonna be 32 before next season and has missed 35 percent of the games over the past 3 seasons. That contract is gonna be hard to trade. Rams gotta eat at least 70 percent of it to find a trade partner I think.

17 active WRs in the NFL 31 or older

Look at Kupp vs Tim

If we could pick him up at a decent costā€¦. Itā€™s worth looking into

Age doesnā€™t really matter. Jeff Backus was a guy who was better in the 2nd half of his career. Thatā€™s not the norm but there are lots of guys like that. But Kupp is pretty toasty. Sure heā€™s still a good WR when heā€™s healthy, but heā€™s lost more than a step and still misses lots of time. If heā€™s a fit here, heā€™s a better fit elsewhere. We donā€™t really need him.

For WRā€™s it usually does. @Mr.Peabody had a great thread about WRā€™s after 30 years old last year. I wonder if I can find it.

So he will be a Chief then right?

Kupp just never seems to stay healthy. Has two 1000 yard seasons in his career which is crazy because he almost had 2000 in one of them. Would absolutely love him for the right price though.

Kupp and a 1st for Garrett

I think Kupp will be great get. Hes still productive, it wonā€™t cost much, Goff is comfortable with him, Brad absolutely loves him, and he adds to the offense.

He would also be HUGE for the WR room. Saint has inside outside versatility just like Kupp and Kupp may help take Saint and Jamo to another level. Kupp is an absolute perfectionist and has insane football IQ, he will be such a great addition to the WR room.

Every time I see him after a game I think to myselfā€”the dude looks like a vagrant!

That is absolutely bonkers.

Iā€™m guessing theyā€™ll have to cut him. Just canā€™t see anyone trading anything for a 20 million receiver that canā€™t reach 1000 yards due to injury.

That chart makes a better case for trading for Adam Thielen or picking him up if heā€™s a salary cap casualty.

Yea heā€™s definitely not Mike Evanā€™s lol. I love Kupp but I would be shocked if anyone gave up much to trade for him.
