The 21-year-old right-hander was pitching for Nicaragua in the World Baseball Classic on Monday where he allowed one hit in a scoreless inning of work against the Dominican Republic and struck out MLB superstars Rafael Devers, Juan Soto and Julio Rodriguez. That was all it took to land a minor league deal, and now he’ll have an opportunity to show what he can do in the minor leagues.
