Cooper Kupp released

He’s not a good fit scheme wise, on the rinse cycle if not washed and not gonna be dirt cheap. I’d rather spend that money on Z and Patrick.

Ramswire site agrees…

If Brad has the same evaluation, yeah Kupp is not a fit. Raymond would be able to fill in for ARSB in the slot, so bringing in another who offers the same does not make a lot of sense.

How did Goff not have Kupp in his prime? You’re saying the very next season after playing with Kupp, and exactly after the trade he was in his prime? Ok sure.

It’s pretty well recorded that Kupp got serious about his training and health at the end of his last season with Goff…and it typically takes a few years for any player to hit the prime of their career where the game slows down a bit.

Also…. consider….

Goff is just hitting his prime now… having just turned 30yo.

Stafford was in his prime in 2021 when he went to L.A. at 33yo.

Goff played the same amount years then Stafford did

Because Kupp never really had a prime. He had very good seasons with Goff, including back to back 90+ receptions. But he has had only two 1000 yd seasons, once with Goff and once with Stafford. That doesn’t exactly scream prime. Prime is consistent seasons of elite numbers and Kupp, while a very good player when healthy, has never had that.
