Cornell He's a BIG feller!

Great interview and insights. He also told Hutch he had to prove himself. After 3 practices he spoke highly of Hutch.
These guys LOVE what AG is scheming up! A good interview:

What do you guys think of his chances at making the roster?
…his chances at playing time?

I think he’s actually pretty underrated, he just hasn’t been eligible to see the field because of a suspension and injuries.

The Jashon Cornell I saw at Ohio State can make an impact on our defensive line.

Thanks for the input, man. Whose snaps does he get? Brockers? DE snaps? Paschal? Interesting camp battles across the DL

He played the 3 tech in our 4-2-5 when he was in college, so he doesn’t fit like a glove in our scheme, but I think he rotates in at whatever the position Brockers and Paschal will play. DT or DE, I don’t know what we call it.

I think his upside is kind of limited to being a good rotational piece though. I don’t think he’ll ever start at this level. But I think he has a good chance to reach that ceiling of a good rotational piece. He’s good at essentially every aspect of the game.

Being the male talent on a porn set sounds great, until you actually have to execute.

Not trying to sound all Iggy-ish here, but a 7 -2 - 2 defense wouldn’t really work.

If he’s as good when the pads come on in preseason as he’s been right now I think you have to cut brockers. You can’t keep taking snaps away from younger more talented players.

Cornell is just another dude at this point.
Seems like a good kid though.
Maybe he’ll catch on with another team.

Spoken like a man with experience!!

at the very end… he was asked, “what is your best position to win?”……

and he quickly said “3-tech.… that’s the position for me!”

which also shortly after he was talking about how the new scheme was working to put players in the best position for each guy to succeed.

It sounds to me that they are talking about “being multiple” because the front alignments may be different depending on which sub-package they are using based on down and distance.

Personally I think he’s a guy that isn’t really like most of our other guys and that will help his chances of staying. He has better twitch than Brockers and really it’s up to Levi to PROVE he is our best 3t option. 3t will be a thing with this defense. We didn’t resign Nick Williams, so that moves Cornell up. We didn’t add another DT of any significance, unless that is what you want to call Paschel, but I have my doubts about him holding up inside full time. I think he’s a heavy SDE that “can” reduce inside ala Flowers and it’s his role he replaced. When we look at our front, and hear Brockers say that we are moving to a Rams style attacking front (that utilizes 3-4 looks usually with 4-5 guys ending up on the LOS at the snap), then who is (the closest) thing we have to what Donald is tasked with? For me it’s Levi and Cornell in that order.

Finally, someone that understands.

You’re probably right, but I choked on my Cheerios when I read that because I have high irrational hopes in the spring for random players. And in the summer and early fall…

Fluffers lost their jobs once the blue pill hit the market.

I heard him never to himself as “A big DE,” which is the idea I most like.

There are plenty of disreputable websites that would love to have your talent for misdirection and deception. Trample everyone necessary and monetize it!! You owe it to yourself. :cowboy_hat_face: :cowboy_hat_face: :cowboy_hat_face:
