Current Injuries

Dan indicated it was B.
Iffy had a separate injury and they reset the clock by activating him and placing him back on IR.
There are a bunch of injuries impacting the roster.
It would make no sense to activate Iffy and have him sit and take up a roster spot.
We have several unplayable players now taking up roster spots.
No one has given any detail on specifics or severity of Iffy’s injury. Many just assume it can be wrapped up and he can play. Not necessarily the case.
I think Iffy being placed back on IR was a combination of the injury and him not being fully ready to contribute.
Hopefully Iffy will be ready to contribute in December.
As for Dan’s demeanor, he is frustrated, as we all are with Iffy and his injuries.
He has seen some of the same issues with Levi, Moseley and Davenport.
If he is brought back, it will be on a 1 year prove it deal.

You’re right.

I probably made too much of it, having interactions with HR personnel and employees has me constantly looking for traps, one of which I assumed they were avoiding by activating him and IR’ing him all over again.

There are none. He’s not a vested veteran as that requires four years to qualify. His contract can’t toll as he wasn’t on PUP and was already on the active roster in the early weeks of the season. His cash pay and cap number are the same on IR as on the active roster. If he doesn’t have a real injury then they wouldn’t have IRed him.

The ONLY reason to activate and then IR again is in the hope that he plays this season.

Maybe Dan was annoyed that a returning player had another injury? Maybe Dan was annoyed that someone gave him decaf? Maybe Dan was annoyed that someone in the press room did a stinking fart? If he’s pissed with Iffy then using up one activation and likely a second (can’t happen until week 16) when there’s only 10 to play with is a really funny way of showing it.

They couldn’t they had to activate him or cut him.

They wanted to use him in as a big Nickel. That was the plan so they activated him and he hurt his hand. So they had to put him back on the IR or leave him on the active roster taking up a roster spot.

He’s stuck on the IR a minimum of 4 weeks now. At this point I highly doubt they would waste another activation on him unless there’s no one else healthy enough.

I’m thinking he’s likely done for the season.

That’s not true. The either had to activate him or put him on IR for the rest of the season.

If he was done for the season they would have just reverted him back to IR without activating him.

Once again they had to activate him. He was cleared.

I’m not seeing that anywhere reading about IR rules. Everywhere I’m reading says that when the window is open the player either gets activated or returned to IR for the rest of the season. I’m not seeing anything about needing to cut players if they’re cleared to play medically. Where are you getting that from?

Games 4 days apart, especially this late in the year is a disaster for injuries. So many more today.

Anyone got a complete list of the injuries we had today? It feels like someone went down on every play.
