Anyone that thinks the team that won that 5 TO game was the better team is delusional. Sometimes the oblong ball bounces weird. The Lions were a better team even with mostly a backup Defense, just had a bad game.
Without BJ focused so hard on empty set backfields instead of handing the ball to Jah (and going up 14-3), and getting Jamo his 1st pass in an NFL game, the Lions would have had a legit chance to win a game they were -5 in turnovers in, without 14 defensive players.
Shorter than my post but the same point. The Lions would have likely given that game away to at least half the non playoff teams. Just a terrible giveaway!

Lions had a terrible game. Clearly would have needed a lot of ifs to win a terrible game played with their mostly backup Defense. Having said that, going into the game there was a reason, even without 13 starters on D to start the game, they were heavily favored. Knew going in the Lions would need to make a ton of mistakes to give away that game. The opponent had a good game but that -5 TO game was about the way the Lions played, NOT who they played against. The Lions were a significantly better team even with the injuries just didn’t play like it that day.
Both coordinators appeared to not have their heads in the game, and took something like 11 combined 3 hour interviews in the lead up to the game. Coaches gave the team the entire first week off too which frankly looked like a mistake. The refs even made it worse with the “missed” roughing the passer call on Goff that would have taken one of the turnovers off the board and negated a pick 6.
I stand by my summary. Terrible game by the coaches and way too many mistakes. If you play like they did that day in football you just don’t win. With a little better luck they easily win a -3 TO game, which is telling about which team was really a better team, but you can’t play like they did and win very often.
He said he had alot of offers, but narrowed it down to Washington versus Detroit.
Jamaal Adams gave him a favorable review of Detroit. Which is real nice considering how he bombed here.
He said the main attraction with the Commanders was being able to play with Bobby Wagner again.
We won this one against them!
Really excited to see him in this defense.
So the follow up is:
- The one cousin, played ball at LSU, is beside himself bc he thinks Peters is screwing up.
- His brother, a fan boy if there ever was one, believes Peters is God. And believes with 100% faith that the only reason Reed didn’t choose the commanders is because the lions offered more money and Peters is a genius for not budging and overspending. BUUUUUT he just signed javon Kinlaw to a deal that has a cap hit 18 million and 19 million next year and the year following. Sooooo the reality is he probably did offer big money to the number 1 or 2 (depending on who you ask) corner on the market and Reed chose the Lions. Cousin number 1 is even telling his brother he is on drugs. lol.
- Jayden is already a top 5 qb…this one I don’t push back on as much only because cousin number 1 is boys with Jayden and played with him.
I can’t wait to go to DC and bitch slap the commanders. Think I will actually go to the game with these knuckleheads.
Will be nice to play that team with some starters on D next year! The players have to be ready for some revenge after jayden trolled TA with the punk “Cancun on 3” crap on the jersey swap! Would love a revenge game like the Cowboys game this past year, only with no injuries!
Lions basically had a couple starting LBers and a couple Safeties, and the entire rest of the D was backups, even losing Amik on 2nd defensive play.
