Darius Slay open to returning to Detroit for one last season.
Basically said it he’s not back in Philly he would prefer to come back to Detroit. I would love to see him come back.

I mean, he’s 34 and will turn 35 before next season ends.
How was he last year?
My roommate is a die hard Eagles fan. He says Slay is very injury prone now, and is on his way to being replaced by Quinyon and Cooper.
But, he says he’s still solid when on the field.
Is he better than Vildor at this point as a cb4?
Just thought I’d bump this back up now that Slay is out in Philly.
He did say he would prefer to play either in Philly or Detroit for 2025…
Get it done Brad
Be glad to have him back!
I like the guy but he gave up on run support about 3 years ago. Not sure he would be a fit here.
Slay more of a back up at this point in my opinion. He is more of a zone guy at this point . I wouldn’t mind him in a Mosely spot but not as your starter. I think he is a big step back from Davis at this point.
he still has some good moments, but he’s close to being washed.
two years ago - hell yes.
now - hell no. unless he’s CB4, which I’m sure he doesn’t want.
Slay was a starting CB on the Super Bowl Champs.
His release is a salary cap cut (he is due a $16M Option Bonus). Not performance.
He is not washed.
He can compete for the CB2 role against Rake and Amik.
I would hope Rake wins the job.
Slay is still a very good CB and it’s going to be great to have him as a Lion again.
Don’t twist things. I did not say he was washed. I said he was close. Maybe he has one more year. You can call it “Competing for CB2”. I’ll call it a surefire CB4. Pushing for CB3.
As for the other stuff you mentioned: Ummm, I know.
Slay is still a very good CB and it’s going to be great to have him as a Lion again.
My second team is the Eagles, watched him alot.
Zero INT’s, zero pressures, OK in coverage, below average run defender. Hey, I trust our staff. If they think he can be useful for one more year, and the Eagles eat some dough, sure. But I doubt it.
Fair. Only question I have that some have responded too elsewhere is the scheme in Philly vs in Detroit.
Doesn’t mean he will/won’t succeed in Detroit but it’s fair to ask.
Signed with the Steelers
Schultz: CB Darius Slay to sign with the Steelers.
I like Slay but just not Dog enough for Dan and Brad.
Stays in Pennsylvania.
