He admits hes had multiple brain injuries. Too many to count. Between those and the multiple serious injuries requiring surgery.
He said he was on more meds and alcohol than he cares to admit.

It’s crazy how long athletes have abused their body… have you seen the Sonny Koufax retirement video? He addresses taking meds just to play and that anyone would trade all their money to have use of both arms instead of having money and use of only one. He was ahead of his time…

You said it. We had just moved back from san francisco. I was 11. Never seen a hockey game before. Dad took me to the Joe. It was '94. Fedorov’s best season. Fell in love instantly. Ken kal and paul woods…so many of my childhood memories were the wings of the 90’s. The barry sanders runs. Me and my dad and his love of everything michigan.

100%. It’s definitely the greatest rivalry I feel I’ve ever been a part of as a fan. Hated the Avalanche.
Nothing with the Lions, Tigers, or Pistons comes close.
Only thing that comes close is Ohio State and a very intense dislike of MSU. But that Red Wings / Avalance rivalry was on a whole different level.

He’s also an excellent example of living life to it’s fullest.
We can go to the grave with great skin and a pocket full of money, or we can go to the grave looking and feeling like we gave everything under the sun a try.
Some prefer the 1st, some prefer something in between, and others prefer the full ride.
