Delima - Help me decide

I live in the Phoenix AZ area. I plan on flying out on a redeye on Sat night and returning Sunday night to see the Lions. I might change it to fly out in the morning on one day, catch a Tigers game at night, then stay a night catch an afternoon Tigers game and fly back at night. The cost of a hotel and 2 Tigers games will be somewhat close to 1 Lions ticket. I have been to Ford field numerous times, but have never seen the Tigers at Comerica. What would you do?

Yea, it’s a shame it’s one or the other right now, I’ve gone done and done both, but this year would be better if you could catch a Saturday Tigers game and a Sunday Lions game . . . but it just doesn’t line up this year.

I voted Tigers, however, I’m in the opposite boat than you as for me it would be Lions or both.

I’ve never been to Ford Field so it would be Lions hands down and probably Tigers as well if feasable tbh.

This would normally be easy - live football >> live baseball, BUT if there is a playoff atmosphere at Comerica, and the stakes are lower for an early season Lions game make the 2 really close. Still pick the Lions, as you are guaranteed some excitement.

Redeye 8/22 Spirit Airlines to Detroit

Sat 8/23 1pm, Texans at Lions preseason game.

Sat 8/23 6:10pm, Royal at Tigers

Stay 8/23 in hotel

8/24 early flight home OR stay for 1:40pm 8/24 game vs Royals. There is an 8:30pm non stop back to Phoenix.

Tough decision since both teams are going to win a championship this year.

Drive to LA game on 12/14.

Advantages:

No flight so even thought 6 hour drive it is probably less travel time.

Much cheaper tickets in LA vs Detroit.

I went ahead and changed it from the Browns game to 2 games against the Diamondbacks. A couple reasons I changed is that I will see the Lions in LA this year(quick flight) plus I got a good rate at the Atheneum for a midweek stay.

Any suggestions on where to sit at Comerica?

I don’t think there’s any bad seats at Comerica but I like down the left field line short of the foul Pole, I like the right field bleachers. I don’t sit and watch the game for long stretches I kind of walk the stadium and see it from different angles from The Concourse and from the Outfield Concourse. If you go with buddies a good time is the the upper deck right field bar set above the bleachers

I’ve been to thousands of games, and sat in pretty much every section in that stadium.

I always seem to have the best time in the right field bleachers.

The Tuesday night game I am in the 1st row of 112, I haven’t decided where I want to sit on Wednesday afternoon yet. I am thinking about right behind the Tigers dugout or the 1st row of Right Center field.

I am already going to that game. My nephew is also going, his company’s main office is in LA. You might remember him. I am flying in in the morning and flying back after the game, that way I can tailgate and have a few without having to worry about driving. That is one reason I decided to go to the Tigers in July. The hotel and tickets to 2 games is about the same price as I would pay for 1 ticket to a game at Ford field.
I have section 112 for the 29th (Tuesday night) and section 137A for the Wednesday afternoon game. If anyone is going to the Tigers games that week we can meet for a beer if you want.
