the four-time Pro Bowler is feeling as good as ever following his seventh NFL season: “Comparatively, I’m healthier than I’ve ever been,” Ragnow said Jan. 19, a day after Detroit’s 2024 campaign came to an end. “That’s a blessing.”
…Ragnow’s reassuring description of his health this time around should quell any leftover fears.
“There’s so many, so many talented dudes in this room,” Ragnow said, when asked if the team’s future looks bright despite the early playoff exit. “Not only talented, but the right mindset, just the right-wired guys that are willing to do whatever it takes for their teammates and put it on the line. I’m just so grateful to be a part of this locker room because there’s a lot of special, special dudes.”

“Yeah, I would like to be back,” said Melifonwu, who tallied 12 total tackles and a sack in the four games he appeared in down the stretch, including the postseason. “Obviously, I got drafted here. I was the first class drafted here, and I’ve seen what we’ve built (and) how we’ve grown.”
…Although interested in a potential return, Melifonwu plans on taking some time away before delving into what his free agency is going to look like.

Holmes to keep focus on O-line
But don’t expect him to ignore the offensive line, a unit commonly referred to as “the engine.”
“It’s not a specific position,” Holmes said Thursday. "It’s not, ‘Oh, it’s got to be a future left tackle or it’s a starting guard or someone to develop behind Frank.’ I think when you start going in those kind of specific avenues, you can kind of ignore something else. I just think you’ve got to keep the whole garden watered at all points.
“It’s going to be the whole unit because … that’s the engine for us. I don’t care how good we ever get on the offensive line, that one right there is too important for not only our team (and) our quarterback, (but) everything. It’s our identity, man. … It’s always going to be at the forefront.”
