Cutting Luke Altmyer should be an easy decision. Initially, I thought he could take over the #2 qb spot.

With the number of other higher profile QBs that have already been cut, there’s almost no chance someone else will claim Altmyer.
Let him go to the PS and develop him.

O’neil listed as cut…idk, he’s had a great camp/preseason, and by all accounts Dan loves him
That would be a surprise. My surprise keeper is Erick Hunter, but I rarely give up on my early favorites if they show anything at all.

And its not like its a cap move. Dortches contract was virtually guaranteed. $1.075 guaranteed. $1.215 due. so $140k savings?
Whiteside could be a cap calculation roster move. He likely will clear waivers. Would probably be innactive on game day more often than not. They can elevate them from the practice squad a couple times early in the season if they need him.
That’s true, the starting corners will be Rock and Reed of course. Behind them, it’s dicey as hell. Right now Brakestraw is CB3? I figured Whiteside was CB3 and Brakestraw was CB4. That’s how preseason seemed to be going as well, so I am curious who fills out the CB room if not Whiteside.
