Less upset about the loss—it’s a long season. More upset that a day to day Cade has now turned out to be off a week. If he can’t play in the next game on Thursday, there’s gotta be more to it than a bruised wrist.
Played out like I expected– Hardin doing his krap… refs doing their part. But those young guys made them work for it. Need that number 2 guy.
Boy that had to be rough last night. I watched to first half, where they played really well, then saw the final score, so I’m not even gonna watch the second half. WTF happened in the 4Q?
Too many turnovers and too many 3 point misses (8/35). I like many things about Ron Holland’s game, but when he’s lining up a three-pointer, I can’t cringe back into my couch far enough. The Clippers pretty much locked down on Duncan Robinson and dared the rest of the team to beat them. I think all 20 of Duncan’s points were scored in the first half. We didn’t have anyone take control at the end of the game.
thanks. usually a guy like danniss, sasser, lavert or green will get hot, but yeah, no one who can do that night after night if cade is out. tough when both stew AND duren are out.
Pistons don’t have that 2nd guy… especially when JD/Harris/Stew are out as well…ughh.
I’d hate to ■■■■ with the current chemistry, but then again, maybe this team could use one of them there balls deep bold moves that everybody talks about to get them over the top….or maybe they’ll stay in the “just the tip” club with the other three major Det sports clubs and see how it plays out.
Let’s do a self scout.
It’s Cade, a #3 of a Big 3 juuuuuust for the first time peeking his nose over the fence, and a bunch of 1 tricks and try hards.
Chemistry?
Make the trade now.
I can’t see any scenario we trade Beef, Ron, or Ausar. Defensively they are worth more than the sum of their parts. It would mess up the Chemistry. Max is Ivey, Harris, levert, picks.
You do know this is a Detroit team. I doubt they do nothing big. I hope they do, but I dont see it
When you put it that way…hell no to just the tip club!

To be fair, and I know we’ve had this discussion before, the Pistons have the best chance of getting away with their passive approach.
Cade is a “window-breaking” player. We should theoretically contend as long as he is healthy and in his prime. That prime should last a significantly long time.
Skubal is also a “window-breaking” player, but of course, we won’t pay him his money.
Especially in basketball where one player like that really CAN make the difference.
This is why I bring up the question of should they mess with the chemistry, but I’m also on board with dont let being good be the enemy of becoming great…there is a world where this team could be even better with the right move as @Weaselpuppy has suggested
Been saying this for a while. They have the star to build everything around then a bunch of solid players who play their roles very well but no #2 guy to take some of the scoring/playmaking burden off of Cade, this will almost certainly burn them come playoff time maybe not in the early rounds but surely later in the playoffs when they run into deeper more well rounded teams.
Where they find that trade I don’t know, maybe MPJ maybe Murphy, JJJ. I don’t know but I do know if we’re talking about winning a championship the Pistons are going to need to make that one bold trade to push this thing over the top. It’s sort of like the 15-2 Lions who had a magical season but were missing that one final piece although merely being healthy might have been that final piece.
In any event, they’re 28-10 so there’s no sense of urgency now but eventually I think there will be.
Going to work had 2 HoF and multiskill bigs.
Bad Boys had 3 HoF , the first 3 and D 5 that had 10000 career rebounds (only one).
Yes all are / were 9-10 guys deep. The point is Cade’s Crew is missing talent the other two had
I know but Detroit teams hate to make that next move
The going to work Pistons in the HOF are Ben Wallace and Chauncey Phillips. Neither one of those were considered outstanding players when they arrived here. Yes, Chauncey was the #3OA pick in the draft, but he had bounced around a couple of teams already. He was starting to get the bust moniker. Ben Wallace was a throw in: a guy who was a fringe NBA player before he got to us. In fact, we wanted John Amaechi as part of the Grant Hill trade and Orlando said, no. As far as the bad boys, it was Isaiah, Joe, and Dennis Rodman in the Hall of Fame. All three were drafted by the Pistons and improved. Adrian Dantley got into the HOF based on his career outside of Detroit. I’m just saying we have to let these guys develop. We don’t even know what we have with most of these guys because they are just scratching the surface. Rasheed Wallace was a big part of the ‘04 pistons, but he’s not in the Hall of Fame, although everyone could see the outstanding talent. I’m perfectly content waiting this out for a year or two before we give away good young pieces for players who will cost a lot and may not fit in here.
If MPJ and / or Trey Murphy were big difference makers, then why are the Warriors the number 8 seed and the pelicans are one win ahead of being tied for the worst team in the league?
On one end of the court, yeah.
On D, we have a top 2 team.
