The opposite of this is also true. Not making moves also carries risk.
I’m not saying you’re wrong in your statement, I’m just adding on to it.
I mean, sure. But we, as fans, are operating blind. We have no idea what was available to a GM in terms of making a move. It just seems really silly to me to get upset about something we objectively know NOTHING about.
Sure, maybe there’s a move a GM could’ve made that would’ve made the team a lot better and it wasn’t taken. That sucks. But it’s also true that there wasn’t a move available at all and any that were offered were ass. We just don’t know. This is my problem with caring about GMs making moves - we don’t have enough information to be upset (generally speaking).

I get what your saying, but it seems to be the same pattern year after year with all 4 teams.
Some people dislike empty trophy cases filled with nothing but the smell of the team’s own farts…while other people find all that stuff to be pretty good and not…too…bad…

Probably has something to do with a trade or move needing both sides to feel like they ‘won’.
Also, didn’t the Wings just famously have a trade blow up in their face? “Just make a move, Steve!” Steve trades for the best D-Man available the deadline, costing a 1st, a decent prospect++, only to see his team flame out, miss the playoffs, and now be down assets and still riding a playoff drought.

Ummm. I wasn’t happy with Yzerman trade with Faulk if thats what you want to twist it.

Faulk is under contract next season as well, and could possibly be extended or brought back in free agency after that.

I appreciate the effort he made. I really could care less about adding yet another draft pick to this organization. This team has had plenty of picks and allegedly has a very good farm system. They needed a 2nd line D man and a morale boost to the team more than another prospect who’d be six years away from making meaningful contributions at the NHL level, in my humble opinion.
I’m not sure this was accomplished, lol. But overall, I agree. At least, if nothing else we didn’t have to hear Larkin whine about his GM not doing anything while the team sucked ass.

This is where I’m at. I’m 37 years old and for about 33 of those years, the lions were ass.
Tigers has a solid few year run that never ended in championship but are a playoff team.
Red wings won multiple cups but probably have the most roster work to do currently.
Pistons won a title and lost another in game 7 and are a piece or two away from potentially doing it again
Everything is a choice. If you don’t want to invest time, don’t. I have gotten much better about not letting the lions ruin my Sundays.
I know we all want titles. I am right there with you. But I also really enjoy being able to tune in and watch games that mean something for many years of my life, that wasn’t the case.

I personally believe that, as soon as one of these teams wins a single championship, I’m going to chill out a lot watching all of them after that.
I know this from experience with Ohio State Football.
We’ll see. In my lifetime I have actually witnessed:
Tigers - 1 WS champ
Pistons - 3 NBA champs
Red Wings - 4 Stanley cups
Lions - ahem (zilch)
UofM - 2 natties in both football & basketball
Winning a championship only reduces the desire slightly, depending on the team. Often, it raises expectations, just as any success will. Five years ago, Lions fans would’ve been thrilled if you offered them the success we’ve seen over the past 4 seasons. Expectations have only increased. Human nature and whatnot.

That’s the one I care most about. More than any other sport. Get us a Lions Super Bowl parade and I don’t care if we ever win another game after that. If any fan base deserves it, it’s Lions fans.

Dude just watch the replay of the world series over and over. Haha the Cubs do have a pretty good team this year. I got a few of them on my fantasy team. They can definitely hit

I’m biased, but I think the 2016 is one of the greatest World Series ever played. But yeah, the team is starting to not be irrelevant again. Last year was pretty good and this year we’re looking to be just as good, if not better.
That said, no one cares about 2016 anymore and it took us 108 years to get that one.
