Detroit Tigers

I would think that would be in reverse. The worse he plays the stronger the beer required. During Lions games over the past 30 years or so, they don’t make a beer strong enough to watch that shit. lol hard liquor required, especially during the 4th quarter blow jobs.

The Tiger team has been fun to watch, see how much longer that continues with these two gone.

But the Minor league teams were the big reason I renewed MLB.tv

Green has been replaced, whew…

The Tigers have acquired OF Jake Marisnick from the White Sox in exchange for cash considerations.

Greene is expected to see a specialist in the coming days for a second opinion on his leg. Hinch did not want to speculate on a timetable for Greene’s recovery, but such an injury generally takes at least six weeks to heal.

Well some good news for the Tigers.
Starting pitcher Tarik Skubal, as expected, will begin a rehab assignment next week. He is scheduled to pitch at High-A West Michigan next Wednesday. He is expected to have 4-5 minro league starts with the last few being in Toledo.

Those in GR have a chance to see him.
Green’s injury ended up not being a fracture but a stress reaction, however, doesn’t mean he is back any sooner.

Manning threw his first live batting practice before the game against the White Sox Friday.

“He was great,” Hinch said. “He looked great. He looked like a normal pitcher.”

Hinch said Manning will throw another live batting practice before one of the game in Philadelphia. If that goes well, he would likely start his rehab assignment.

I guess this is good news for the Tigers, yet, also shows just how bad they were under Avila’s leadership.

The Tigers’ 16-11 record in May, fifth best in the American League, was their best full month since they went 16-10 in July of 2016. Also, the Tigers are 10-4 in one-run games, that’s third best in the Majors.

The old catcher whiffs on the ball, the ump gets beaned, the catcher is worried about the ump while the guy scores the winning run from 3rd play, just like they drew it up.

Lose in a game where neither team scored an earned run

Speaking of no earned runs… reminds me of a game back in the late 60s where the Tigers were no-hit by Baltimore, but won the game 2-1.

Cuellar “effectively wild” that night?

Back to reality.

Swept by a division rival, ending the series with a walk off grand salami.

Oh well, hopes dashed again.

June is Cinderella Hinch’s Midnight.

It’s was a combo of two pitchers, I remembered that much, but I needed to look up their names. 8 2/3 innings from Steve Barber and 1/3 of an inning from Stu Miller. 1967.
Mike Cuellar…part of that pitching staff that had four 20 game winners. That was impressive. Off the top of my head…McNally, Palmer, Cuellar, and Pat Dobson. Those Earl Weaver led Orioles were bad ass.

No Tigers game today. Too smokey. They say it’s from the wildfires in Canada. I think it’s just their season going up in flames this past week.
