Heard a story that the Bernstein family used to pay for all of their advertising with credit cards. Imagine the miles those cats received!
I have two clients that insist on paying for big cases or recurring service w a CC. These are businesses of our same type that use us as a service bureau for things they donāt do.
As such, they understand I am taking 3%+ shot in the balls everytime, as they accept CC from their personal clients (we donāt, chargebacks from angry wives whose hubbies werenāt stepping out like they thought).
When I charged them a 3% surcharge, at first they bitched, but in the end all good.
Our one big client in a 5 year contract however mid contract mandated we get paid via CC and if we didnāt like it, so what, we have a contract rate and they are a huge utility, so FU, basically.
My point is that if you are paying a vendor via CC they are possibly building that 3% into your rates and what in your head is āfreeā really isnāt. Niw, if it is like Wesleyās story, then thatās different.
Someone hasnāt spent much time in Vegas if you think cash is a waste of time.
Cash is, and always will be King, especially when you want something done AKA comped.
My wife works with seniors everyday, and sometimes they pay her in ALL coins, even pennies. Now THAT is brutal.
Luckily our bank has a fat-free CoinStar.
I like checksā¦because I can sell them for cash
Radiofriendly are you financially savvy kind of person?
I wouldnāt say Iām anything special by any means. Im not a wall street trader, i donāt have a fancy degree in economics or anything like that, no.
I am in my mid 30ās and have put together an investment portfolio that i think will help my wife and i to retire by our mid 40ās, however.
I have a conservative, relatively safe side of my portfolio and i have an aggressive side that has really, really been explosive in terms of paying off in a positive way. Iām conservative with the earnings once i have them and believe in utilizing compound interest with these earnings so one day my wife and i can just relax and get on to enjoying life without the 7-6 grind.
Not sure who still believes in 9-5? I sure as hell donāt.
