We’ve had this discussion here before. Long story short, you’re not going to grow grass in northern cities in the winter that’s suitable to play on. It would have to be grown outside like in Arizona and wheeled in like they do it there. Just not going to happen this century.
not how it works.
D-line and LB depth at the start of training camp:
DE1 - Hutchinson - 5 games, IR
DE2 - Davenport - 2 games, IR
DE3 - Paschal - 10 games, probably out on Thursday
DE4 - Cominsky - 0 games, IR
DE5 - Houston - 8 games, cut
DT1 - McNeill - 12 games
DT2 - Reader - 11 games
DT3 - Onwuzurike - 12 games, probably out on Thursday
DT4 - Peko - 5 games, IR
DT5 - Wingo - 11 games, IR
DT6 - Martin - 1 game
LB1 - Anzalone - 9 games, IR
LB2 - Barnes - 3 games, IR
LB3 - Campbell - 12 games
LB4 - Rodriguez - 10 games, IR
LB5 - Reeves-Maybin - 8 games, IR
Out of 16 guys, 9 are on IR, 1 was cut, and 2 are likely out on Thursday.
Crazy. Reader, McNeill and Campbell are heroes.
Quinton Bohanna line 1, quinton bohanna line 1
Agreed. It’s hard to believe. We have put 25 guys on IR this year and have won 10 straight. Wild.
Okay, but, what is Wingo having surgery on?
I read it 3 times. Am I blind?
Watt played at about 290 pounds…
but I think he would still be able to play even at 250 pounds.
He certainly looks powerful enough in this video from Chargers facility… only 25 fays ago.

Chris Smith is almost certainly getting called up for this game, along with our new toy from the LA Rams PS.
Grass can be grown indoors. Real Madrid have a super fancy set up, but the simplest way is just with growlights.
Soccer teams in the Premier League have great grass fields and their weather is terrible.
I’m sure it’s a long shot but Watt at 250 on 3rd downs rushing the passer could definitely help.
Plus he can ring chase. He does not have one.
Not sure that grass would hold up to NFL play, but thanks for the correction.
If keeping NFL teams healthy was as simple as just having a great medical and training staff, there would be far fewer injuries in the NFL than there is today. There are plenty of great medical and training professionals employed by NFL teams. It’s a violent sport and injuries happen, regardless of how ‘great’ the medical staff is.
Look at the randomness of the injuries. What can a medical staff do to prevent Hutch’s broken leg, the forearm break for Anzalone, a helmet/body to the knee of Barnes, someone yanking with force that you or I haven’t been exposed to on Davenport’s arm, CD3’s foot getting stuck in the turf, Decker getting rolled up on just to name a few? If it was a bunch of soft tissue injuries, then maybe there is discussion to be had. Otherwise, not much the training/medical staff can do.
Not to rain on the parade/dream, but Watt has made it more than clear he’s happily enjoying family life and doesn’t want to get back into the grind of working out at the level/frequency NFL play requires.
That’s what she said!!!
What do you do with the grass for the other 80% of the stadium’s obligations? Concerts? Monster truck rallys, circus, etc…

Everyone has a price!
I know I’m dreaming. We only need him for a couple months.
We’ve had 25 players on IR this year.
18 are currently there.
2 have returned to the 53.
5 were injury settled.
Does Iffy not count because he went back on right away?
BroMart and Moseley both came off IR.
Great teams overcome adversity. Now, is when we find out what this team is really made of.
I’m with ya on the dream. Miracles have happened before. I’d offer to suit up, but my age (approaching 50) and 5’11’ 175-pound frame probably isn’t going to cut it. I’d make a solid water boy though.
No way is JJ Watt in football shape even if he wanted to play. How much weight has he lost?
I just saw him kicking ass on a Peloton commercial.
