Do you prefer to live with hot summers or cold winters?

This poll is a lot closer than I thought it was going to be.

I agree completely with this, the only difference is when we experience them. That’s December/January and early February for me. Real winter around here is really only a ~3 week period starting in early February through the end of the month, and most years we don’t see any ice or snow (but when we do, whew, watch out, everything falls apart).

But yeah, summers are brutal (though the worst of it is really more July-August-September). Of course the upside is you aren’t quite as trapped inside physically as you are in the north in the winter months. It’s just a tolerance deal.

That can be said for winter as well. You’re either trapped by extreme cold or extreme heat.

I think the blue birds have it figured out, summers in the north and winters in the south.

Well there’s no shoveling driveways or dangerous roads, I mean. But yeah, when it’s just extremely cold vs extremely hot, both are tolerance deals.

How about somewhere where it runs from like 50-80?

I’ve worked outside in Michigan for over 20 years… I’ll take the heat allllllll day… Easier to get things done, no frozen ground, longer days… And GOLF!!

No gators on the golf course in Michigan though.

Id love either. We get cold and wet summers and colder and wet winters here!

You can always dress for the cold. If it’s hot your only option is air conditioning

It’s crazy to me that people live in places where dinosaurs still roam free.

We did a fan boat tour down at Mardi Gras. This guy was 11’ long and last year had his arm gnawed off.

I have dry skin. I like humidity. Dry sucks, skin gets all itchy and flaky and everything I touch I get f-ing zapped. F that crap.

You couldn’t pay me enough to live in a climate where there weren’t 4 actual seasons. Gross.

I lived in Arizona for 22 years. Moved to Colorado 4 years ago.

Hot summers without a doubt. I love everything about Colorado, except the winter weather. This year was definitely an exception. I liked Arizona as I could be active year round, outdoors. I played a lot of softball, and it was 12 months a year. I hate snow

Snow birds got it right

This was a very detailed description and I’ve always wondered what it would be like living in the Plains region, thank you! Was very informative.

For me, I agree with @QBHATER90 the older I get the more I dislike the cold… but I also hate humidity. So I guess I’ll take (and have been/continuing to take) cold winters and mild summers.

So I see 39% of you are actually insane.

There are lots of fun ways to cool down, usually involving water and lack of clothing, or frosty beverages. Fans are cheap, AC is ubiquitous. Humidity is good for the skin. Better sunlight is good for the psyche. Cold is more lethal than warmth. No snow shoveling. Fewer potholes. More opportunities to grow food. Blue zones are in warm places.

But you could be killed by a poorly driven golf cart. If you are hellbent on maintaining your current climate preferences I would recommend that you live as far away from John Elway as possible.
