Eh, I don’t blame anyone living in a suburban neighborhood for being bothered by some punk riding his dirtbike there all day, let alone doing dangerous stuff.
Want to do country shit? Go live in the country. Hell, just drive there real quick. There’s plenty of wide-open desert in Arizona to go play around in 'til your heart is content.
Related, it also drives me bonkers when city people move out to the country and then complain when people are dirt biking, mud bogging, shooting, whatever.
Well…I had dirt bikes and go carts when I was a kid and lived in rural SE Michigan. We lived across the road from a large farm (that I worked for as a kid) and the farmer let me ride on his property. We owned about 3 acres and we rode on our property too. Man did the neighborhood Karen’s complain about the noise.
We had property in Florida near St. Petersburg and there was public property along the lake front that was open to riders. Our neighborhood was about 100yards away from it and was separated by a public beach (that no one used to swim just to walk along) You can’t ride on the beach but all the neighborhood kids would ride their dirt bikes in the water that 100 yards to get to that public riding area. Boy did all those old timers complain about it but the police explained that it technically wasn’t illegal and wasn’t hurting anything. Didn’t stop them from constantly screaming and throwing stuff at riders as they went by.
All you old buggers who complain about kids would rather have them out breaking into cars, doing drugs and causing trouble…. Let kids be kids.
Funny thing as a young adult I lived in northern Michigan. My best friend had this huge 3rd generation family farm that butted up to the back of this large private lake. His parents sold off that back part of the farm to a land developer who built giant homes on the lake and formed a HOA. Then the lake association took his family to court because they didn’t like the smell of a farm next to their expensive lake front homes. After years in court the HOA bought the farm and developed it into their HOA. The family didn’t want to sell but felt the battle was futile.
Point being…. People tend to complain and bitch when people do stuff they don’t approve of but more often than not it’s not illegal and that person isn’t hurting anyone. Why can’t people just get along and understand people are different.
